A Heads Up!

 

The Azores Genealogy Resources site at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~azrwgw is down. Ancestry took the Rootsweb site down to work on it. There is more information in the blog post link at the end of the message that appears when you go to the site.

 

Rootsweb is currently unavailable

Rootsweb is currently unavailable. We have been in the process of improving the site throughout 2017, and as a result of an issue we recently became aware of, we have taken the site offline while we work to resolve it.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but protecting our users’ personal information is our top priority. During this down time, we are working to preserve all data saved to Rootsweb, and hope to have an update within a few weeks.

No, it’s definitely not a good thing! It’s a security issue with Rootsweb, itself, and might not be resolved for a couple of weeks. We’ll hope for a sooner resolution than that.

Dick Eastman makes it sound it's back online, but the World GenWeb portion, where the Azores GenWeb is housed isn't up.
