Living the Expat Life

It takes a special kind of person to move away from home to live in a new country. OK, so we may be a little biased but we at AngloINFO like to think that our members are just that little bit more adventurous and open-minded than the average person. Immersing yourself in a completely new culture is undeniably a challenge and frankly, it’s not one that everyone is up to. It takes a considerable amount of courage to step out of your comfort zone and leave behind the familiar, so AngloINFO expats… we salute you!

Opportunities for Adventure!

Why do people move overseas? Perhaps it’s to find a better quality of life, to learn a new language, to broaden their children’s life experience, to earn more on an overseas assignment… maybe just to get out of the day-to-day grind. These are all obvious benefits, but there are many other reasons why being an expat is simply… well, great!

We love hearing about the fascinating lives of our members and we’ve got dozens of expat bloggers from all over the world posting in our blogs section. Here you can read about everything from eating in a “babushka’s” restaurant in Baku to finding hidden châteaux in Paris… and a lot more besides!

You can get news and views relating to expat life around the globe, including tips for looking after your money and property in our World blog series. In our Meet the Expat feature we introduce you to fellow expats who share a little of their own personal experiences and offer advice and tips for settling into a life overseas.

If you want to find out what’s happening in your local expat community, or if you want to ask a question or start a conversation thread, check out our Discussions forum – it’s a great way to connect with other people in your area.
