How to change Grub Menu

Hi

Love the work everyones done on this! have successfully ported it to
asus 91mt, and the touch screen is sooooo much better than W7.

Q. In the dual boot menu, how do i make Android - (MDPI) default. The
resolution is too large on (HDPI). I am a complete noob to GRUB and
dont know how to edit. Have searched but can seem to understand ;-(

Any help appreciated!

If it's already installed, boot and choose debug.  At first stop, vi /mnt/grub/menu.lst.  change default to 1.  Save and type /system/bin/reboot

Thanks. I can make the change to 1, but i can't figure out how to save
and exit. I am not up to speed with commands for grub. Any
suggestions, could it be that i dont have permission?

Ok, worked it out!

easy once you know, who would have figure i had to do ":" and "x" to
quit and save!

Yeah, I've been using vi for about 15 years now.   Took a while to learn it but it is very powerful!

I know this is an old thread but I can't find anything else for Androix X86 other than removing it entirely. I guess most people either ignore the Grub menu or know how to fix it without bothering to tell anyone.

I tried finding the file in Android but unlike proper versions of Linux the file system changes on boot. I tried using VI which I consider to be one of the least ergonomic programs I have ever encountered. I'm sure there are coding errors introduced by my fiddling with it.

Anyway, I changed to 1 which seems to instead of choosing an option it just moves the default chosen option down a line which is to the wrong item. I tried hiddenmenu which still had the timer but just literally hid the menu. I finally got it to use a default of 0 which is Android, and a timer of 2 seconds. Is that the best we can hope for?
