We started onces the sdk 1st release... Spend all times on it... Ever
sacrify our holiday... Put in times, effort, money... Sudmited 11
games... Need designer... Hiring... Each level, each game play, each
character is designed by our designer that we hired... At the end of
result.... Nothing... Adc team Only asking permission to publish it or
not... Haiz...

I dont think our game is worst... I not sure whether they really go
through our games or not... Because my game just simple game play that
why dont do much on documentation, not much screenshot... most of
times focus on each games... With simple readme key control...

now, what should I do with those games??? Keep it for what purpose???
Publish for what purpose??? Our aim just for the adc... Haiz... What
should I do??? Delete all project or format my pc???

Hi Wesley,

I know what you feel. We sacrificed so much, and even not get any
details, no serious explanation or rating about our work. We spend 5
months of hard coding, and there is nobody who can spend five minutes
to give us support.

I could get additional job, 6-8 hours per day and gain around 10k $
for these 5 months of "free" Android job. Now, I have only experience.
But market for this even does not exists. We are not only loosers. We
are jackass, too. I'm jackass. No challenges anymore..

Get a vacation. Working for free on a success of someone else is
simply a waste of time.
They got a bunch of ideas now for free, and what we have ?
NOTHING. Except, the bills to pay :D

greets,
peter

Hey, there are other platforms (even if you may not like those) and
there is real harware and USERS ( = potential customers). The creative
part is done. Mostly it is now just a recoding.

Another thing worth pointing out is that other platforms are way more
mature than the current Android SDK. For example. if you want to make
a great GUI on the iPhone you won't need to design your own buttons
because the native ones look great. You won't need to code your own
widgets. There's also a GUI designer, a great debugger and a profiler
and most importantly you can test it on real phones (even if you don't
have one some of your friends will) - real world situations are way
more valuable than brainstorming sessions and artificial usability
tests.

I'm confident that if I were to put the same amount of time and
motivation into recoding my app for the iPhone, I'd be done in 2-3
weeks. Compare this with the 3 months I needed for Android.

Hello, q2dm1.

I am thankful to learn the information and very interested.

Can you tell me how much I need to invest, in hardware & software, in
order to switch my idea to iPhone?

Cheer up you guys !

The world didn't end !

We were just not in the first 50 !

Why so melodramatic?

Wait!
Maybe your apps are viable for commercialization, but don't count on
it, your may have another disappointment.
Maybe you can be wired to work on some future android app.

Just make the most out of it, don't go into depression, it's not worth
it. You are sure not to "win" anything by being negative !

Focus, on the NOW and the FUTURE.

You all are supposed to be grown-ups... Gee

Wish you all the best.

P.S.
I wasn't in the top 50 too, so big deal, I know what my work and
idea is worth, and I had the experience, lived it, and growed with it.

The NOW is definately not Android, don't know about the future. We'll
see, if it turns out to be a success I will by all means deliver an
Android application, but for now, I'm done wasting time.

Exactly.

Seriously... I just a developer... I really dont know what to do with
those games that I had developed... Dont know how to publish it...
Dont know how to market it...

11 games... Do you know how many times and cost I spend to develop???
Can you imagine???

Without thinking how we goin to market it... Without thinking how can
it make money...

Just follow our heart to develop nice and quality games for ADC...
Limited resources... Never mind... We take risk... Put in our own
money... Just to make sure the quality of our games... Each one of
it...

I dont think they really go through our games... The reason less
documentation is because for games the only thing that need to provide
just key control... We as developer we more encourage user/player to
really explore the surprices in each level... And enjoy playing our
games... Our is not just plain text... We have a lot effect and
surprise in game... If you really play it... We have developed variaty
of games... We have shooting, action, adventure, maze, arcade, math,
and etc...

But at the end... Is true... Only thing left is those bill waiting for
us to clear... That why less and less mobile game developers can
survive nowaday...

Agree. This is why I support

Google GARage - Official Google Android Repository to showcase Android applications.

and

Google Android World - Official Google events for Android to be conducted worldwide for Networking and Marketing of Android developers.

Wesley,

There are a good few ways to market & promote your apps currently, but don't forget its still very early and no devices out there, so just want to keep you motivated and have faith in Android(open platform). We're many devoting so many hours, cause  we do believe the rewards will be much more in the long term than winning this ADC challenge(just to motivate us).

a) Google will have a Gallery to showcase only applications (GARage is something Apple will do as they have with AppStore - a closed/controlled model unlike Google's as we all know)
b) SlideME.org has Application Promoter, http://www.slideme.org/content/application-promoter
c) SlideME.org has SAM, http://www.slideme.org/sam
d) SlideME.org will have SlideVille, http://www.slideme.org/slideVille (itunes like store for the desktop, install/unistall, colab, etc)
e) SlideME.org Awards http://www.slideme.org/awards

.. and SlideME has contributed all the tools for anyone to create their own open repository(with JV) or small aggregator to deliver to any devices(such as their own subscribers) with the open source client application manager (SAMce)

+ more (anyone feel free to add to this list as many are asking the same question - how to market / promote their apps & efforts)
