Hi,

Has anyone able to build ICS on ubuntu 11.10 32 bit?
Google site said it is experimental, I would like to know if anyone
has succeed. I have tried, but I got this error:

ERROR: prebuilts/tools/gcc-sdk/../../gcc/linux-x86/host/x86_64-linux-glibc2.7-4.6/bin/x86_64-linux-gcc
only run on 64-bit linux
make: *** [out/host/linux-x86/obj/EXECUTABLES/emulator64-arm_intermediates/audio/audio.o]
Error 1

Thank you for any pointers.

Hmm, yes that documentation was written before we had that gcc binary
in the tree. From here on out, you will probably need a 64-bit host
to easily compile AOSP.

Indeed, with the emulator moving to 64-bit, building on 32-bit hosts
is not an option any more (not even unsupported).

I suppose I can still build the "older" branches on a 32-bit host, can't I?

OR,

Is there a way to ignore the emulator and build just the other stuff?

My requirement is to port the media framework from a recent branch and run it back on Android 2.2. or 2.3. I guess I do not need the emulator to be built on my host.
