What gives?
(This question and the previous one are courtesy of Jim Ward. I would
have had a chance at this one, maybe, if I'd spent enough time on it.)

Add up? Certainly, once you put it all together, connect the dot,
etc.

I think we may have to try harder, Maria.
The next two are
Knot
Chaos
and there aren't any more.
Well, I know that the name do Carmo goes (loosely) with knot theory. But
I'm fairly certain that that's not it.
I'll try: Schick.
(You had a list of words, and asked which one gives. Well, I guess
'schick' gives.)

Ya know, I gave a very good clue earlier. Subtle, but good. No one
has picked up on it. And Jerry's clue is good, too. I mean, what
*are* all those things on the lists (both original and add-on)?
My clue, in answer to the question "Does this question add up?"
was: "Add up? Certainly, once you put it all together, connect the
dot, etc."
Now what could be plainer? I'm dead serious, entrants. Just look at
the lists and the clue...

Dingdingdingding! Thank you! Sheep will be on their way - and may I
recommend a Herdwick or two bonus for this very-long-awaited answer?

Google "nooses give". You'll see.
Your Cormo and five Herdwicks (Totally Arbitrary decision) are parked
outside your door. And I would like to admit that I didn't get how
clever the question "What gives?" was; if I had, my hint would have
been different.
Yeah, neat. Very neat. Is "Ock" Doc Ock?
