USING YOUR SCORES

Parameter A: What is your viewpoint - Relationshipper or Plotter?

If you scored 0, 1, or 2 on these questions, you are a PLOTTER
(P). This means that you are interested in the storyline of the show
- overarching conspiracy revelations, mutant microbes, psychotic
killers and all! You probably enjoyed "Kolchak: The Night
Stalker" in the 70's, and likely logged countless hours watching
"Twilight Zone" and "Night Gallery."

If you scored 3, 4 or 5 on these questions, you are a
RELATIONSHIPPER (R). You are interested in the character
interaction on the show - Mulder/Scully, Mulder/Skinner,
Scully/Frohike, Mulder/Mrs. Scully, Mrs. Scully/Skinner, Mrs.
Mulder/Skinner, Scully/Pendrell... the list goes on and on! One of
your favorite movies of '96 was probably "Sense and Sensibility."

Parameter B: What is your storyform - Mythology or Weirdness?

If you scored 0, 1 or 2 on these questions, you enjoy WEIRDNESS
(W). You probably got a big kick out of the sploogy boils of "F.
Emasculata," and found Tooms' strange life cycle intriguing.

If you scored 3, 4 or 5 on these questions, you enjoy
MYTHOLOGY (M). This means that you get most involved in
episodes relating to Mulder's quest for the truth - the shadow
government, secret informants, and cover-ups included. It's a good
bet that you miss Deep Throat, and find X a bit disconcerting.

Parameter C: What is your communing form - Yakker or Lurker?

If you scored 0, 1 or 2 on these questions, you are a LURKER (L).
This means that you like to read about the show and even enjoy
occasional arguments, but often choose not to participate in on-line
debate yourself. You enjoy watching the activity from a safe
vantage point.

If you scored 3, 4 or 5 on these questions, you are a YAKKER (Y).
You like to be actively involved in on-line discussions of the show,
even if it means you occasionally become involved in heavy
debate. You are likely to write fanfic and consider it essential that
the writers of the show know how you feel about their work.

(Please note: It is quite common for L's to turn quickly into Y's. Y
behavior is contagious and can turn into an addiction if not
carefully monitored.)

Parameter D: What is your belief system - Dana or Fox?

If you scored 0, 1 or 2 on these questions, you are a FOX (F). You
have faith in the impractical, the untested, the radical. You are
likely to post long, intriguing discussions which explain how
Scully could, via time travel, be Samantha's real *mother.*

If you scored 3, 4 or 5 on these questions, you are a DANA (D).
You generally believe that authority figures are telling you the
truth, and you don't need to go far outside Chris Carter's world-
view to find satisfaction. You believe that Deep Throat is dead
and that there is no such thing as UST, except in the minds of the
experiencers.

Important Note:

If you find yourself with a score of 2 or 3 in any particular
parameter, you may be a borderline personality. It is common for
Darin Morgan fans, for example, to move easily from "Weirdness"
to "Mythology." How you score on a particular parameter may
depend on the time of year, or on your mood at the time of test
taking.

Your OVERALL XF PERSONALITY TYPE consists of all four
parameters listed together. Here are the sixteen possibilities:

RMYD PMYD
RMYF PMYF
RMLD PMLD
RMLF PMLF
RWYD PWYD
RWYF PWYF
RWLD PWLD
RWLF PWLF

Clinical Findings:

Interpersonal difficulties are largely expressed between the R/P
and D/F parameters. Researchers now believe that it is nearly
impossible for R and P personality types to peacefully share chat
rooms together, unless one or the other is willing to "set aside" his
belief system for the duration of the chat. There have been rare
instances of R/P friendships developing (See Knapp and Anderson,
1991), but documentation is spotty at best. Further
experimentation may yield conclusive evidence.

There has been some noted subdivision within the R viewpoint
parameter. Past studies have revealed polarized groups known as
the "Romantics" and the "Status Quotettes" within the
Relationshipper classification (see Nathan and Vitaris, 1996).
These sub-groups were formerly believed to belong to separate
parameters (Sq and Ro), but further research has shown that both
subdivisions fall into the R parameter, since members of neither
group can rightly be classified as Plotters.

While common, D/F difficulties do not seem to be as severe or
persistent as R/P problems. In fact, there have been many notable
cases of D/F intermarriage, with seemingly little strife. The
general presentation in such cases is early, sporadic verbal
sparring, followed by lengthening periods of mutual respect. The
final stage in a D/F relationship appears to be one of near-
telepathic intimacy.

Note to the irony-deficient: This test has absolutely no validity as
a predictor of life success or viewing pleasure. Whatever results
you get have no statistical significance whatsoever. Parameters
were selected at random and questions have never been subjected
to any sort of objective scrutiny. I suspect that personal bias is
evident throughout the test. Do not write to me as if you have
taken this test seriously. Go and take the Meyers-Briggs
Personality Inventory and write to Mr. Meyers or Mr. Briggs.
Their test is probably just as invalid as this one, as a predictor of
behavior, but they wish to be taken seriously.

(And don't write to me if you're now an angry Meyers-Briggs
devotee!)

Just one small thing from a former psych major...Katharine Briggs and her
daughter Isabell Briggs Myers are not usually addressed as "Mr."!!

Very good, but I take exception to the choices on #17. She meant neither of
the two choices given. When she said "Oh Mom, I've just made a big
mistake." she meant that she felt respnsible for Mulder's "death" because
she left him to get ready to go back to D.C. because she had a meeting w/
Skinner. And yeah, she probably was not to thrilled at being out of a job,
but I doubt if she regretted her actions regarding Mulder in that she went
back to look for him when their phones were cut off, or that she lied to
Skinner in the first place. She has lied several times and it doesn't seem
to bother her if its "for a good cause"

P.S. Do you think this test could be used for evil purposes by the T.V.
people?

Hate to waste space, but me, too!
(If I knew somebody who had it, I'd E-mail them myself.)
I have a horrible suspicion that I'm a Dana Scully with a
Mulderesque-humor...
REMEMBER: Big Brother is watching...
...and he's wearing a garter belt & stockings!
