Gossamer is closing (projected date in October)

I hate to do this, but The Gossamer Archive is closing.

The main reasons are a complete lack of time for it, and network
saturation. I don't see either situation getting any better.

My current plan is to freeze the archive as it is, but to continue to
add to the "Unprocessed Stories" areas. I plan to keep this up for
several months, or until a replacement site can be found. I'll
probably close it in October even if no replacement can be found.

If anyone is interested in adopting the site, let me know. I'll
gladly help set it up.

This may perhaps sound like a strange idea, but what about a *group* of
people taking controll of the Archive? Perhaps, say, split the authors's
names into alphabetical order. Then we wouldn't have to worry so much
about space. Dumb idea, but it's all I could come up with.


PS. Vincent, if you read this, we all will really miss the Archive. You've
done a great job and thanks for all the entertainment you've helped bring
to all us fans of fiction ;)

Yeah from me too. I only got online and found the arcive recently, but
I'll really miss it unless someone else does take it on.
