3/11 - Rome-Old and Juli-Eh (JABF08)
Grampa falls in love...with Selma; Bart and Lisa con a delivery man
out of cardboard boxes (which can be very profitable - just ask
anyone who's moving how much they would pay for them)

3/18 - The Wife Aquatic (JABF03)
Homer takes Marge to the bayside village where she used to vacation as
a child, only to discover that the boardwalk is dilapidated, and when
he pretty much destroys what's left of it trying to repair the town's
carousel, he has to work it off on a fishing boat

3/25 - Homerazzi (JABF06)
Homer becomes a celebrity photographer after he snaps a scandalous
photo in an attempt to recreate the photos destroyed when the safe
Marge bought to keep her family album from burning in yet another
Simpson house fire exploded

Note that 4/1 will be just the third April Fool's day where the show
has aired (the first two were the first Clip Show (which, of course,
was an April Fool's Day episode) in 1993 and the first airing of
"Simpson Safari" in 2001. (4/1/1990 was a Sunday as well, and the
show had not moved to Thursdays yet, but the show was pre-empted that
week for an episode of "America's Most Wanted".)

REVIEW: B - there were some pretty good stories, and the Dark Stanley

out without going anywhere. "The kids are going on tour!" "No,
they're not!" "Honeymooners ending!" "Roll credits."

"The Sound of Music" (songs)
"The Apple Dumpling Gang" (Appalachian Dumpling Gang)
Smashing Pumpkins (Smashing Bumpkins)
Blue-Collar Comedy Tour (No-Collar Comedy Tour)
"The Honeymooners" ("Baby, you're the greatest" and moon ending)

DYN
...the story doesn't end the way "The Sound of Music" does?
...Marge is reading a "real" book (James Patterson's "Kiss the
Girls")?
...Marcia Wallace's only "line" is a noise Mrs. Krabappel makes while
falling out of a window?
...when Skinner sings about the "gift card from The Gap", all it says
is "$5 Gift Card"?
...Gary Chalmers played an attorney in the first "American Kickboxer"
movie?
...Lisa writes for the Daily Fourth Gradian?
...there's a petanque court in downtown Springfield?

GOOFS / FREEZE FRAME / WHATNOT
The names of the kids don't match the names from 4F08.
Here, they're Whitney, Jitney, W, Incest, Crystal Meth, International
Harvester, and Birthday; back then, they were Tiffany, Heather, Cody,
Dylan, Dermot, Jordan, Taylor, Brittany, Wesley, Rumor, Scout,
Cassidy, Zoe, Chloe, Max, Hunter, Kendall, Caitlin, Noah, Sacha,
Morgan, Kyra, Ian, Lauren, Q-bert, and Phil.

Krusty is reading the Financial Times - but the FT isn't printed on
white paper.

Lisa's song about culture mentions "Bunuel retrospectives"; Luis
Bunuel wrote, among other films, "Un chien andalou", which was the
name Jay Sherman gave to a stray dog in an episode of "The Critic".

LYRICS
------
OH, HOW DO WE?
How do we gag a blabbermouth like Lisa?
How do we crush her First Amendment rights?
How do we stop her writing up what she saw?
Would she shut her trap for a gift card from The Gap?
She might!
Oh, how do we stop a royal pain like Lisa?
How do we make Miss Righteous less uptight?

MOTIVATE THEM (that's the only title remaining in the credits; I have
a feeling part of the song was cut)
The hillbilly tykes will become my tutees -
Wha - Oh - Wha - Oh - Ow!

CULTURAL THINGS EXPERIENCE
Mistos and Lattes and Grandes and Ventis
Browsing at bookstores with fat cognoscentis
Books about Dali, Degas, and Miro
Those are the folks that you yokels should know
Pretentious laughs at Bunuel retrospectives
Outsider art made by mental defectives
Enjoying opry that aint grand or ol'
Comparing Jim Carrey to Dario Fo
(Your minds are opening! Take it home!)
Eating Tapas - Freestyle Rappas
Mrs. Skinner is Mame
We finally experience cultural things
And now they don't seem...so lame

MOONSHINE DRINKERS
I have eight teeth, goin' on seven teeth
I have a curvy spine
We live on landfill
And feast on roadkill
While we all drink moonshine
You're better than us!

THE BALLAD OF BUZZ COLA
President or Ayatollah
Everyone loves new Buzz Cola
...with lemon!

Cletus' red-headed girl with the wayward braids has one long braid and
one short-trimmed braid (I've forgotten which scene).

Plus, at least two-thirds of them seem to have vanished (of course,
chances are that Cletus and Brandine never figured out addition back
when dey was in dat dere one-room schoolyhouse). Shades of Uter! I
was surprised they omitted Condoleezza Marie.

Stanley D Group, the crazed school cook.

"Stanley, Stanley, no degree"
"Two credits short at MIT"

The soup "needs more girl", but in
http://www.snpp.com/episodes/3G01.html, the Red Tick
beer "needs more dog", and in http://www.snpp.com/episodes/BABF13,
Soylent Green cereal is "now with more girls".

Why didn't Bart just eat the spaghetti instead of using it to scare
the kids?

Supernintendo Chalmers' first name is Gary.

Willy brings the children back to school via several cliches about
rounding up cattle
and flushing out prairie dogs that must be from some Western movie.

Cletus drinks Thompsons Water Seal.

Snake and Apu are in therapy also, and they describe their criminal
victim relationship
is a way that would make you think that they were a husband and wife
talking about a
dysfunctional sexual relationship.

Normally Cletus has about 15 kids, but the Sound of Music only had 7
kids, so only
7 kids are shown. The SOM had 2 boys and 5 girls. The Sound of Music
kids from
the Spuckler family consist of 3 boys and four girls.

The pigtailed girl lost one of her pigtails to the chain saw wielding
street entertainer, but
it grows back by the end of the episode.
