I wanna see ur picture. At any rate I liked both bands at the time.
Now I could care less. Put their pictures on flags and burn 'em for
all I care. And Frank Zappa's status amongst many people I've met in
these realms in the last year is inexplicable to me.

Do you live in AURORA, CO? I didn't know there were any trailer parks
out there. So maybe not. Don't be ashamed. I might be living on my
sister's sofa soon. Balancing all my worldly possessions on top of my
body. Just relax. You're way too old for me. But at 139,000+ posts I'd
say you need a woman BAD. Or maybe you need a guy. IDK. Love makes the
world go round they say. Care to disagree? That's my real job. Making

The Mothers were largely responsible for my becoming a hippie. Che
Guevara was largely responsiblee for my becoming a Leftist. If you

This long-running variety series premiered on June 20, 1948
with the title Toast of the Town. (The Toast of the Town
link covers the first 8 seasons of Ed Sullivan.)

The series was re-titled The Ed Sullivan Show on September 25, 1955
(the beginning of the 9th season). Although the name had changed,
it remained the same variety show with "something for everyone."
There continued to be a diverse guest line-up which included singers,
musicians, actors, dancers, comedians, circus acts,
plate spinners and acrobats.

The Ed Sullivan Show was an American television variety show
that ran from June 20, 1948 to June 6, 1971, and was hosted
by entertainment columnist Ed Sullivan. It ran on CBS every
Sunday night at 8 p.m. Virtually every type of entertainment
appeared on the show; opera singers, rock stars, songwriters,
comedians, ballet dancers, magicians and circus acts were
regularly featured. The format was essentially the same
as vaudeville, and although vaudeville had died
a generation earlier, Sullivan presented many
ex-vaudevillians on his show.

==

vaudeville

1. theatrical entertainment consisting of a number of
individual performances, acts, or mixed numbers, as by
comedians, singers, dancers, acrobats, and magicians.
Compare variety (def. 9).
2. a theatrical piece of light or amusing character,
interspersed with songs and dances.
3. a satirical cabaret song.

Origin:
1730–40; < F, shortened alter. of MF chanson du vau de Vire
song of the vale1 of Vire, a valley of Calvados, France,
noted for satirical folksongs

Light theatrical entertainment, popular in the late nineteenth
and early twentieth centuries, consisting of a succession of
short acts. A vaudeville show usually included comedians,
singers, dancers, jugglers, trained animals, magicians,
and the like.

Ed Sullivan's long-running variety show famously had
"something for everyone," from circus acts to rock & roll.
Motown fans were no exception, and the cream of the crop
is presented in this collection. The sensuous, R&B-influenced
music of Marvin Gaye joins performances by the Temptations,
the Four Tops, and the Supremes for some irresistible tunes
that go straight to the soul. Gladys Knight and the Pips,
the young Jackson Five, and Smokey Robinson--the most
poetic of R&B singers--round out the bill.

"The King of Hearts"

Le Roi de coeur (1966)

===
http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/review?res=9902E6DB103AE63ABC4851DFB066838C679EDE

By VINCENT CANBY Published: June 20, 1967

IN the last scene of "King of Hearts," the latest
Philippe De Brocca import from France, Alan Bates
stands at the gate of a madhouse, seeking permanent
asylum from the real world. He is holding
a bird cage and is stark naked.

<...>

That, briefly stated, is that the certified insane of this world
are a lot less lunatic than the madmen who persist in making lunatic
war.

Set in that long ago antique time of World War I, "King of Hearts"
recounts the adventures of an amiable Scot who, during the last days
of the fighting, is sent into a little French village to find and
dismantle a giant booby trap left behind by the Germans. By the time
the Scot arrives, the citizens have fled, leaving the village in the
custody of the inmates of the local asylum.

They are a larky crew indeed, and it's not particularly surprising
when the good, sane Scot, whom Alan Bates plays with such decent
and funny intensity, finally succumbs to their logic. Of course,
Mr. De Brocca, the director, and Daniel Boulanger, the script writer,
have loaded the dice, or have they?

There is not a catatonic in the lot of these charming lunatics — dukes,
duchesses, generals, a marvelously compliant madam and a virginal whore—
all of whom persist in regarding Mr. Bates's efforts to save them
as totally incomprehensible.

Instead, they name him the King of Hearts and hold a coronation that
might have been choreographed by the Marx Brothers. When, at the climax
of their festival, two opposing armies fight to the death in the
village square, the "duchess" turns to the "duke" and coments blandly:
"I think they're over-acting."

Lassie is an American television series that follows the adventures of
a female rough collie named Lassie and her companions, human and
animal. One of the longest running dramatic series on television,
Lassie was first broadcast from September 12, 1954, to March 24, 1973.
The show saw seventeen seasons on CBS before entering first-run
syndication for its final two seasons. Filmed initially in black-and-
white, the show transitioned to color during the 1960s.

The show's first ten seasons follow Lassie's adventures in a small
farming community. Fictional eleven-year-old Jeff Miller (1954-1957),
his mother, and his grandfather are Lassie's first human companions
until seven-year-old TIMMY TIMMY TIMMY TTT_TIMMY Timmy Martin
(1957-1964) and his adoptive parents take over in the fourth season.
When Lassie's exploits on the farm end in the eleventh season, she
finds new adventures in the wilderness with Forest Rangers Corey
Stuart, Bob Erickson, and Scott Turner. Following a year without human
leads (1970), Lassie finally settles at a children's home for her
final seasons.

Lassie found critical favor from its debut and won two Emmy awards in
its first years. Show stars Jan Clayton and June Lockhart were also
nominated for Emmys. Merchandise produced during its run included
books, Halloween costumes, clothing, toys, and other items. Campbell's
Soup offered two premiums (a ring and a wallet), and distributed
thousands to fans. A multi-part episode was edited into the feature
film, Lassie's Great Adventure and released in August 1963. In 1989,
The New Lassie brought series' star Jon Provost back to television as
Steve McCullough, a man denying his identity as Timmy Martin after
learning the Martins did not properly adopt him. Lassie is
occasionally seen in reruns and some episodes are available on VHS and
DVD.

and in my consideration,

i showed you some of the pitfalls of

"Cynical Pragmatism"

and in having a multiple standard.

by -your- own statements,

-you- engage in behaviors to which -you- object.

-you- are in an argument with your-self-.

you don't need a 'thicker skin'

you need to -remedy- that.

one ends up, compartMentaLizing themself

and -polarizing- their attitudes

and wandering off into strange =dualisms=

and the /strife/ is -within-

and ERIS has "her" way with you...

only "she" ain't =conscious= of "her" efforts...

and -you- are the "silly putty"

put that club down and -don't-

go off considering 'payback'

that's for YHWH to handle...

it's sometimes, sort of like,

ERIS waltsez over and picks up a light socket,

says, "duh, whutz this?" and sticks her finger innit,

and =you= get knocked across the room.

when and if one ever knows what this means,

then, i'll respect their opinion on the matter...

i'd be -all- ears, jack...

Do you actually believe that you can be a dualism-free human being? I
both like to kid around & put you down and also talk straight-
forwardly and sincerely. I am not interested in resolving that
argument w/ myself, as you put it. ERIS be praised. XD. I think it's
just human nature. What I said about liking to dish it but not have it
dished to me was honest only to the extent that if I get the vibe that
the person putting me down is indeed hostile, I don't like it.
Otherwise I like it. It doesn't bother me. That is pretty hard to tell
sometimes on the internet. A person's intentions I mean. I am trying
my best to like you. But it's fun teasing you too.

I would never be able to tell what your take of being a Christian is
unless I could read your mind. Words are a poor substitute for that. I
was raised a Quaker. I didn't see a lot of proselytizing going on by
them. It was a more private affair. I don't care for people who think
they have "The Truth" & then talk your ear off about it. It's fine
with me if they think they have it tho. The extent to which you talk
about it and even fall back on it as a substitute for holding up your
end of a debate at times makes me think it's either something you have
to constantly convince yourself about, or it's a crutch when you can't
think of anything else to say, or both.

LOOK!! I found the origin of TEH.
TEH: alternate spelling of THE. Used frequently on the internet
primarily by the Millenial generation.
Origin: A renegade group of Soviet Young Pioneers who plan to take
over the world one word at a time.

WARNING: Should you wish to abstain from voluntary use of "TEH" until
such time as it becomes mandatory, NOW would be the time to do so. HAGD
