lots of storm damage and brown water.

I think it's been a month-long string of good swells and fair winds, Doug. It
was the first week in Dec. when it started, with only a couple of days that
were less than good in the last 4 weeks.
It is total "Victory at Sea" out there today- 17 to 25 knot onshore winds
kicking up big. messy windswell/chop everywhere. They are calling this the
"10-year" storm for So Cal (but we can't stand much in the weather department,
we never really have any...) and there are a lot of trees down, muddy runoff
pouring into the ocean, power outages, traffic accidents, etc. The ocean is a
bizarre sight right now, with a sharp dividing line about a mile offshore and
as far as you can see up and down the coast from the highest cliffs where the
ugly, brown, storm-mixed runoff water meets the blue-green of deeper, cleaner
ocean water. I'm not sure if I'd go out even if the waves were good, what
with the threat from the pollution...

Tom,
you're quite right, 4 weeks of surf, indeed.
Torrey pines "soup" looked browner than I,ve ever seen it this morning
Pollution from overloaded sewer drains is a certainty
Maybe cont. water warning signs will be out tomorrow.
good time to catch up on work
about 30' of fence blew down in my back yard last night , time to pay the
piper
