You are hereby ordered to proceed by dimension warp shuttle
to Outpost ZINDERNEUF where you will report to COMSILVERTFZ's office
for shipboard assignment and final billeting.
-- ADM FireSong to-Vensre, MD
FS:cd
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> END COMMUNIQUE <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Daniel read the orders for probably the 400th time as he waited for the
shuttle pilot to finish the final approach to Outpost ZINDERNEUF. It was
his first time in a dimension warp shuttle and he was still amazed at the
enormous distance they had covered while seemingly moving at a sedate less
than light
speed.
He wondered what his first assignment would bring, the CFSO had been
less than forthcoming about the final nature of his posting. At the very
least
I'm out on the frontier he thought. Whatever it is it ought to be
interesting. While
still hoping for a security assignment he knew that it would more likely be
in science or
medicine where he would draw his first station. For a brief moment he
indulged in pointless wishing that he could have scored a little less on
some of his
science courses at the Academy. But if he wished to command someday, it
would be important to be well versed in all aspects of starship operations.
Well whatever it was, even if they wanted him to be the ships cook, he would
just
show them he could be the best damm ship's cook in the Silver Fleet.
The docking of the shuttle interrupted his reverie and he slung the
single bag he carried over his shoulder. He shot the pilot with his
forefinger and
thumb and stepped onto the station. He considered seeing if their were
quarters
assigned to him and freshening up before reporting but curiosity was a
stronger drive. He wanted to get started in his new career for real!
The doors of the COMSILVERTFZ swished open and Daniel found himself
half expecting the familiar feline form of ADM FireSong to-Vensre but it the
decidedly human, and decidedly female form of CDOR Meg Forester that
rose from behind the large desk. Snapping to attention he executed a crisp
salute before extending the padd containing his orders.
"Ensign Daniel Batan reporting as Ordered!"
NRPG: Hello everyone on the NEBULA, I'm looking forward to joining what
sounds like an exciting ship, hopefully I can bring a little something new
to the party!

>Comments: "Dutch is a fine officer if not always the best student, while
he was consistently in the top-third of his
class, I often felt he
could have had higher scores if he had
consistently
applied himself. In his areas of special
interest, especially
Phaser marksmanship and Combat history he was
unsurpassed by any in my memory. A good man in
a tight spot,
I was never able to rattle him in any stress
test."
