Question: Has anyone actually ever seen the Crapton? Does anyone really
believe he's a person, or just the creation of one of the regular posters
herein. I tend toward the latter. Opinions?

Crap'n Neal® was a fictional personae for most of his tenure here. There may

was not as addicted to abuse as the sock puppet director.

Doubters and Non Believers:

Capt Neal is a real person. He has been sailing in the Bahamas for
quite a while now. The last letter I got from him was from West End
Bahama dated 19 Mar 2002. The stamp was from the Bahama Humane Society
featuring a cat. He's sent me copies of his sailing log as well as
some of his musings. He existence is easily verified, if you know
where to look.
He sends his "special" regards to the newsgroup. I do not understand
why you people must attack him. He is role model for us all.

Which brings up another point: Does anyone here believe that Gilligan is
real? And are he and the Crapton one and the same?

Well Jeff, I believe him to be the character created by a real person. I have had
quite a bit of parlance with the Gilligan creator and I assure you that the puppet
master is real person of considerable intelligence and expertise in numerous and
diverse fields. He is not so insane as his puppets would lead you to believe, he is
the possessor of numerous patents registered with the US Patent office, and I have read
said patents and discussed their contents with him which lends rather a large credence to
his reality. For various reasons, rational or other otherwise, the creator of Gilligan
does not at this time wish to reveal his true identity and has requested that I respect
these wishes. I can tell you that he does reside in the north-west U.S. and what he writes
of a technical nature is generally absolutely correct.

Cheers

Glad to hear that the Captain is at the helm of the old banana. A
role model though? Certainly a worthey foil, but his ideology has
grown mouldy.

So you've re-activated? Thank god. They've let Doug King take the

Gilligan is the main sock puppet for a number of personalities here and has a

imminent death and destruction if he is revealed...he has the power to clean

Since Katy's been limping about following her skiing accident, I'm able to
stay a pace or two ahead of her after pissing her off. Otherwise she'd have

What's the name of his boat again? I just got back from a month-long cruise of
the Abacos, and a couple weeks ago I was anchored next to a yellow Coronado 27
off New Plymouth Township at Green Turtle Cay. It had a windsurfer on deck and
two dinghies tied to the stern rail. One was a pretty normal looking
fiberglass dinghy with outboard attached, and the other one was a ridiculously
small (i.e. didn't look big enough to hold a real person) craft that appeared
to be of homebuilt origin.

This was the only yellow Coronado 27 I've ever seen, so I'm wondering if it was
the infamous banana. The name on the transom was "Mustard". If that's the
name of Capt. Neal's boat, he was on Green Turtle Cay as of April 23rd or so.
Nobody was on board when I dinghied by, so I never found out if it was him or
not. I wouldn't know the guy if I tripped over him anyway.

I think Crapton changed the name of his boat several times. First it was Chiquita
(banana) and then Conquistador (or something like that). Did it have a low bimini
with a big solar panel on top and a wide blue sheer stripe? Did it smell and have a
cat on board?

Yes, that was the brilliant Capt Neal. Did you happen to get any
pictures of the boat? I'm certain the good people of Abacos were
giving the mighty Capt the welcome he deserved. His boat does have
"Mustard" in the name, though I will not reveal the whole name. More
