Also, check into the syndicated soul oldies show, "Night Train", which
runs on Sunday nights, 6 to 9pm PST. This is the best oldies show covering
the mid 40s to late sixties. Lots of RnB, blues, rare DoWop, New
Orleans,etc. Anyone heard this show?

There is, or at least there was as of about 2 years ago:

Monterey California KLAU 1540 AM
San Francisco California KOFY 1050 AM
I discovered the KOOL-Gold network about 2 years ago, and I think it's great.
They seem to go out of their way to keep it a secret that it is a national
network and not just a local radio station that has a wide selection of
great songs from the 50's and 60's. I contacted KCBQ-AM, the San Diego
affiliate, and they provided me with a printed affiliate list, which I've
entered below. They broadcast from Phoenix (i.e. that's where the DJ's
are), but the station is transmitted via satellite from Dallas.

This isn't on KOOL-Gold, is it?
When this newsgroup was in the planning stages, I had thought that once it
was created, I would solicit input for compiling 2 (annotated) lists,
one a list of oldies stations around the country (world?), and the other
a list of specialized oldies shows (such as "Night Train"). These would
serve primarily out-of-town visitors but also residents who may not
be aware of such shows and/or stations. I'm not prepared to request such
input now, but if someone else would like to compile one or both of these
lists, feel free; otherwise, I'll do it when I get a little more time.

KOFY unfortunately dropped KOOL-Gold 2 years ago :(
I like KOOL because it played those unusual oldies as well as the standards.
Anyway, thanks for the frequency list. I'll see if I can get them again.
