THE AUDITOR UK # 325 July 2005

SECTION: UNITED KINGDOM NEWS:

Narconon Centre Opened in Hastings

Hundreds of people from across the UK, including several notable
celebrities and dignitaries, recently converged on Hastings to open
the world's newest Narconon centre.

Speakers included Councillor STUART EARLE, Mayor of Bexhill; GEOFFREY
DAVIES of the National Drug Prevention Alliance; DANIEL GALVIN, JR.,
celebrity hair stylist; ANDREW LOOG-OLDHAM, former manager of the
ROLLING STONES; and PAUL DOLAN, Executive Director of Narconon
Hastings.

Councillor Earle spoke on behalf of the Mayor of Hastings: "I'm sorry
she's not here today, but I know she would support the work you are
doing - and I would like to welcome Narconon to our community.

"Thank you for giving hope, giving life to a generation that without
your help would never enjoy all the nice things we have come to take
for granted. I wish you every success in the future."

Mr. Oldham gave a personal account of his battle with drug abuse: "I
had a rollercoaster of a ride with the Rolling Stones for five years,
and then spent thirty years getting over it.

"It wasn't until 1995 that my real recovery started - I reckon I was
about three weeks away from dying. I met some very special people in
Glenfall who helped me get well enough to do the Narconon programme.

"I became the master of my own destiny, standing in the sunshine and
that's how it's been since."

The facilities can service up to 70 students at one time.

including former Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog-Oldham (below)
gave personal accounts of their war against drugs.

Of course, given the Church of Scientology's recent lies regarding the
LAPD, I wonder that all these "celebrities and dignitaries" were
actually there, much less "hundreds of people."

Coo! That sounds fun.

In the absence of any recent googleable news reports, I'd imagine
that this most likely refers to events a week or so later than
this article from August 2004 in 'Hastings Today'.

Only a councillor and the mayor couldn't make it, yawn! A new supermarket
could get that.
Is the "National Drug Prevention Alliance" a real organization or is CoS
just inventing bogus groups as usual?
A celebrity *hair stylist*?! WTF? Is he a hair dresser to celebrities or
is he well-known on his own?
A former manager... m'kay.
And the guy who runs the org. (Guess he'd have to be there.)

Not one is even B-list.

So who were the "notable celebrities"?

As former managers go, Andrew Loog Oldham is a pretty big deal. I'm not
sure what list he'd be on though. I'd suspect B.

"Imagine a church so dangerous, you must sign a release
form before you can receive its "spiritual assistance."
This assistance might involve holding you against your
will for an indefinite period, isolating you from
friends and family, and denying you access to
appropriate medical care. You will of course be billed
for this treatment - assuming you survive it. If not,
the release form absolves your caretakers of all
responsibility for your suffering and death.

Welcome to the Church of Scientology."
