Years ago, Heber Jentzsch was the main public spokesperson for the
Church of Scientology. I see that the CoS still lists him as
"president," but it occurs to me that I haven't seen him on TV or quoted
about Scientology for several years. Do you folks know what his story
is?

The last that was heard of him, he played musical chairs, then ended
up in the SP Hall [of Fame?]:

It's been a pretty long vacation. :)

My vote is semi-retired or just MIA -- self-imposed or otherwise.

How would you be privy to knowledge about FBI visits to Int base, Alex?

Wow, alex, I hadn't seen this anywhere. Seems to me something like
that would be big news. Where did you see it?

That's the first time I've heard the FBI does requests these days. Not only
requests, but you can have them performed at a friend's place for you.
Their career must really be going downhill.

Yeah I though it was big news, but then they found merry elves not

It was fairly recently.

I'm not sure where I read it; maybe mentioned on ESMB; cross-posted from
OCMB.

According to the account, the FBI had been asked to check on someone in
the 'SP Hall' and showed up at Int Base.

Contrary to Alex variant, they were kept in the waiting room and the
person in question was brought *to them*. He was alive.

No general 'bill of health' for Gold in any case. Other than that, I
know nothing.

It is the posts of "Songbird" you mean.
Yes she is credible and this did happen.....

------------- quote --------------

I don't see the FBI roaring up to Gold, lights flashing and sirens
screaming, and invading the place.

They did, however, during the past week, go out to Gold and interview one of
the inmates of the SP Hall, based on a letter they had received expressing
concern for her well being.

They spoke with her for about half an hour. She assured them that she was
not being held against her will and was, in fact, just working there.

The agents who interviewed her would not have realized that inmates of the
SP Hall have been thoroughly conditioned for loyalty to Scientology and
David Miscavige and would under no circumstances, while sitting right there
at Gold, reveal anything about the actual conditions in which they're
living; they apparently accepted what she told them at face value. Which is
too bad.

In the future, however, law enforcement personnel may come to have a better
understanding of what really goes on in Scientology and at Gold Base.

Yeah, standard health and welfare check. If the person said they were fine,
weren't tied to a chair, held by goons or other visible duress, it would
pass.

Look at the times that they got just enough advance warning of inspections
to convert parking garage bunk space into storage areas. For this, after
warning from the gate or sooner, they'd just have to run a quick sweep from
the entrance to the waiting room, maybe with a general "stay where you are"
order.

It would be interesting to have a gereral view of the place to see if there
is any visible reaction to visits like these, and how much before the cops
arrive it happens. (If there was always a reaction, and it was just before
the cop car left the police station parking lot, that would say something.)

Or maybe just a copy of the Int security procedures binder...

happen?

Oh, you give me too much credit for being knowledgeable, Alex. I only
post here so I am clueless of what goes on at the others boards
unlesss someone bre=ings the info here, which you did since I asked.
I never hear of this until you posted above and I just read the link
you posted to OCMB about the FBI visiting someone to make sure she was
ok.
You said VISITS. That was only one visit. Did you exaggerate or are
there more visits that you know of?
