Chris Benoit looks to have re-injured his neck at a house show this
past weekend. During his match, Tomko gave Benoit a powerbomb and it is
said that Benoit landed awkwardly on his neck. Benoit rolled him up for
the win to end the match quickly. Benoit felt pains near his neck and
hands after the match. It hasn't been fully determined the damage, but
if he has to undergo surgery, he is expected to miss 6-8 months
following surgery.

Gene Snitsky has had a blood clot in his stomach, which explains his
lack of TV time. This was very unfortunate for him, because RAW just
made a round of shows in his hometown area. He will be cleared next
week, and may get involved in the Kane/Lita/Edge stuff this week on
RAW.

Molly Holly went on record to say that she quit WWE because she wanted
to spend more time with her family and church, and had nothing to do
with the Diva Search. She also made it known that the door is always
open, if they do decided to push Woman's wrestling again.

More has come out regarding the Jim Cornette Suspension:

Jim Cornette had crafted weeks of storylines for the Toland's (OVW
Southern Tag Champions) and their manager Jillian Hall (who is
scheduled to be brought up soon, with the mole gimmick.) Cornette was
having the Dudleyz job to them to help the team establish dominance,
but also agreed to let the Dudleyz "get their heat back" after the
match.

After the Dudleyz lost, they super power bombed Jillian through a
table, ECW style. Now Cornette is very careful not to "insult the
fans intelligence" and was very upset because now he couldn't use
her the next week after what they did to her. He later "cut a
profanity laced promo," on Bubba and asked him why he would super
bomb a 125-pound woman through a table when there were plans to use her
the next several weeks on TV.

Bubba didn't think it was a big deal, but was embarrassed by Cornette
yelling at him in front of the boys. He called John Lauranitis and told
him that he refused to return to OVW while Cornette was there. This is
what led up to the suspension.

John Cena has been vocally against WWE's policy to not give wrestlers
first class or business class seats on overseas flights. WWE decided
that the seats was a good area to cutback on. While WWE Title holders
are expected to take a leadership role backstage, many were surprised
that Cena was vocal about the issue due to his usually laid back
attitude.

The word making the rounds right now regarding Ted DiBiase's 90-day
trial run as a creative consultant for WWE is that many don't seem
impressed with him at this point. Many feel he has a lot of catching up
to do in regards to what happend in the last 15+ years in the business.
Given what was said about him from others, the opinion is that he
thinks something that worked 20 years ago would work with today's
audience. DiBiase hasn't reportedly watched wrestling on a regular
basis for well over a decade.

Another movie is in the works from WWE Films as they've acquired the
script A Chance for Both Barrels from John Hefferman. Heffernan also
wrote Pacific Air 121, and The Naked Prey for MTV Films. This is what
Variety is describing this upcoming movie as....

The hard-edged actioner about a mercenary and his quest to bring a
killer to justice will be tailored as a vehicle for an
as-yet-unspecified WWE ring star.

It should be fun to guess who will the fourth WWE wrestler to star in a
WWE-made movie in addition to John Cena, Kane and Stone Cold Steve
Austin.

WWE Films recently wrapped up The Marine starring John Cena not to
mention the horror film Goodnight, starring Kane. Production is set to
start for Stone Cold Steve Austin's movie The Condemned in the summer.

There is no word yet on when exactly these movies will be released or
if they are even going to make it to movie theatres as there is a good
chance that these WWE films could be direct-to-video releases.

On his message board, Matt Hardy had this to say, as a comment to the
closing angle on tonight's RAW:

I don't know about you guys, but in my opinion, the ending of Raw was
tasteless and deplorable. It's literally sickening to see a real life
tragedy exploited as a wrestling angle.

The reason the Undertaker was not at the weekend house shows as
scheduled was because his wife is pregnant and very close to having a
baby. He is also nursing a sore hip injury as well.

The planted girl that slipped Vis the tongue on RAW was Indy valet
Summer Rain, who manages Brandon Groom. I believe the plant that tried
to escape the Masterlock challenge was Indy wrestler Daniel Cross. I
watched both of them perform this past Friday in Oklahoma City on a NEW
show that featured Jerry Lawler, Al Snow and Rodney Mack.

A few fans have pointed out to me that on WWE's ECW website
(http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/), which is now linked off the main
WWE.com page, they have a title history where Balls Mahoney is listed
as "Mahony". Spelling error on the last name aside, not sure what WWE
has against the name "Balls". It reminds me of the old Pro Wrestling
Illustrated magazines calling him "B. Mahoney". I also can't imagine
"Balls" offending anyone given some of the blatant innuendo they've had
on Raw.

Hate to break it to you, Sean, but Meltzer's reporting that this is
false. Benoit is fine, thank you.

And as it turned out, he wasn't used, so maybe they weren't taking any
chances. Snits might be back next week as a roadblock. How much d'ya
wanna bet they'll plug Edge in where I thought Matt MIGHT'VE been in
the first place, as the money man behind Snitsky all the way back in
October.

And they could certainly use her now, with Trish & Lita both on the
injured list, though latest reports have Trish returning in "six
weeks".

Cornette should've known better than to embarass Bubba, especially
considering Bubba must've gone out of his way to protect his victim.

Free? Sounds tempting.

Huh? Vince has that same problem with perception!!

Figure this could be King Ego's next vehicle, to make up for Journey of
the Dead and King Conan going by the wayside.

Direct-to-Video has bolstered the film resumes of Hogan & Piper, but
WWE would be wise to go for wide release.

And he says Lita & Edge aren't a true couple? Seeing what happened
Monday reminded me of the Trish/Jericho/Christian angle from last year
more than the real-life menage-a-twaddle.

#2 for UT & Sara. Congrats!

Cross has also worked for NWA Wildside, and maybe among those who
signed developmental deals for WWE's new farm base in Georgia.

I think Matt is a little self-absorbed if he considers his girlfriend
cheating on him a tragedy.

Consider me glad to be wrong. :)

I dunno about this WWE Films thing. It's been around....what, 2 years
now? And so far, zippo results. They didn't hype the hell out of the
making of The Marine....but then, it was while Cena was "out injured"
because of Carlito, so maybe they'll hold off on the hype until it's
scheduled for release.

And that's pretty much it. Austin is signed.....to do something that's
not set in stone yet. Kane has some horror movie.....status unknown.
And another script is being worked on......and might get made, maybe.

And if in fact this stuff does get released and made, this expansion
reminds me of Marvel's expansion into filmmaking. With all the projects
they want to do, there's a serious oversaturation that could really
doom them and their projects. A few have already suffered with box
office disappointment (Blade Trinity - hi, Trips!), outright failure
(Elektra) and movement straight to video (Man-Thing - and that got
released to Sci-Fi Channel and, to my knowledge, was widely hated by
anyone who watched it).

If they (WWE and Marvel) keep this up, they'll kill any interest in any
of their projects......and in the business world, when you don't make
money, you're dead.

Focus on the wrestling, Vince. You've had RAW's with 7-8 matches for a
few weeks now, and confidence in the TV product is (slowly) rising
again.
