Is anybody else pissed that Foley is teaming with the Rock. The Rock sucks.
And it pisses me off how fans cheer so much for him when he does a Rock
Bottom and a stupid ass elbow. But that's nothing compared to when he says
one of his stupid lines. Foley barely gets applause, and now he seems to be
heading into a feud with Al Snow, who I hope kicks the Rock's ass in the
future. Foley deserves better, he should be the champ, not the the Big
Show. He only has a few years left and is looking to retirement, give him
the damn belt one more time, or give him the Euro belt or some other belt he
hasn't held, make him a Triple Crown Champion.

Is he not already a triple crown champ? I know he has held the championship
and the tag belts, but has he had the IC yet?

Because he does suck. He's amusing in an irritating way, but overall he is
a showboater that "wins" because he's managed to catch the fans attention
with his showboating. His wrestling style is ok, nothing spectacular, and
his sig. moves take way too long. I'm waiting for the day he's doing that
ridiculous elbow and someone cranks him in the balls.

Agreed...at last someone else who doesn't like the Rock - I thought I was
the only one.

I used to be a fan, but now i think the gimmick is getting very old. I
mean, jeez, did anybody else see him in his Star Trek make up on the WWF
site & cringe? He was doing that stupid bloody eyebrow!!! For God's sake
man...DO SOMETHING ELSE!!!

People accuse Austin of being a 2 move wonder, but I am afraid the Rock is
headed the same way. If he doesn't shape up soon he will end up like
Austin - very popular for a few years then washed up. And he is a lot
younger than Austin too.

I don't like Al Snow & Foley being used this way with the Rock - they
deserve a lot more respect and a damn better angle!

People cheer for the Rock completely because of his mike work. His actual
wrestling is okay, and has led to some pretty good matches, (Rock vs.
Mankind at Royal Rumble, Rock v. Austin at Wrestlemania), but his popularity
is based almost completely on his catchphrases.
And frankly, if he's going to attempt to stay on top of the business by
using catchphrases, he needs to come up with some new material. When he
comes out on Monday nights, I can pretty much recite his entire entrance
because he says the SAME DAMN THING every week! Hey WWF writers, if you're
listening, come up with something new for Rocky, okay?

Yes, it's disgusting to watch someone who's given so much to wrestling
(meaning Foley) get tagged up with and playing second fiddle to someone as
stupid as the Rock.

No more Rock and Sock - Mick Foley is retired. He will come back for
individual cameo bouts but he has had enough chair shots to the head. He
has also put away a few bucks and is smart enough to get out on top.

He has a new book out -- guess what it's called.? "Have a nice day".

Freddy, Heckle, and Hiarea, KNOW YOUR ROLE AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH!!!

You jobronies don't like the Rock, but you can't qualify your dislike
other than, "the Rock sucks". Well, ol' JC says this. The Rock is a better
entertainer than that roody poo HHH can ever hope to be. HHH is typecast as
an actor (see the Drew Carey and PacBlue appearances last season). Rock was
able to step away from the usual character and play an undercover agent on
The Net before that show was cancelled. Given a chance, the Rock would have
a
better chance than HHH of ever winning an Emmy. 'Nuff said.

Just like a Rock fan to call a female a 'jobronie'. Reason #1 His
arrogance is way out of proportion to his actual stage performance. Reason
#2 He is often not all there in locker room portrayals. Reason #3 I don't
like him. His art does nothing to inspire life.

'Nuff said.

Nope. He himself said on an interview at Wwf.Com that he was premature in
his statement about retiring and that he wasn't even considering it at this
point with so many main eventers out. He did say that he wasn't going to do
much in the way of hardcore anymore, but that he was definately staying with
the WWF.

Heh. You really read my post didn't you? You saw me say I didn't like the
Rock and that's about it. Typical. So, for your sole benefit, I shall
repeat my qualifications for my dislike of him.

1) He's a showboater full of nifty and utterly banal catchphrases that get
really REALLY old about the 50th time you hear them.
2) He's signature moves take WAY too long. The People's Elbow is retarded.
It takes forever, and is a relatively "low damage" move compared to most of
the other sig. moves out there. I just have a hard time seeing some of
these wrestlers lying around for 10-15 seconds while the Rock runs around
the ring like an idiot preparing for this simple elbow drop.
3) He's not a very good wrestler/actor. I remember seeing him slam
someone's head into the steps (dont remember who or when) and the guy missed
them by about a foot, but still did the "grab his head and rol around"
routine to cover the Rock's screw up. This is but one example. There are
many more (several from the Undertaker/Rock match about a year back).
4) He's teamed with a man whom I have the utmost respect and liking for, and
treats him like a second-stringer. Foley should have the title "The Great
One" and the Rock should be stepping aside for him, not vice versa. I was
upset about how he treated Al Snow, but after Snow completely turned on
Foley, I hope the Rock crushes him.

And I really hope he wrestles Prince Albert one day and Albert shaves off
that stinking, annoying eyebrow.

About the only thing the Rock has going for him isn't the People's Elbow or
the People's Eyebrow, just a bad case of the People's Mouth.

That would be true, except for the fact that he does change them up.
Unlike Austin, Road Dogg, or Godfather, you don't hear the same
catchphrases from a year ago.

The whole point of the People's Elbow is that the Rock can take 15
seconds to do a simple elbow drop and still win the match.

He's only 27 years old, and has plenty of time to learn more moves.

Noy going to argue with you about the above wrestlers. Dont particularly
care for any of them. However, the Rock has been using the same lines now
for at least a year.

> The whole point of the People's Elbow is that the Rock can take 15

Which he couldn't if wrestling was "real". While wrestling is a show, there
is a point where the suspension of disbelief becomes difficult and the
credibility of the fictional work breaks down, hence ruining its enjoyment.
The People's Elbow is an example of this. Besides the fact that it's just
generally a boring move.

> He's only 27 years old, and has plenty of time to learn more moves.
>

And? This doesn't disqualify my criticism. Maybe in 5 years when he is
actually good, then I'll like him.

> Repeat after me: wrestling is fake.

Again, and? Mick Foley as contributed as much to pro-wrestling as any
baseball player has to his sport or football has to his. He should not be
playing second-string to the Rock. I will, however, back off of this
particular point since Mick seems to like this arrangement for now.

And, overall, I am entitled to my opinion. Just like some people dont like
chocolate, Star Trek, and some of the other things I like, I don't like the
Rock. He doesn't do anything for me. Probably my tastes, as I swing more
towards the larger, more powerful wrestlers like Kane and the Undertaker. I
like their show better too.
