They are criminals because they broke our laws to get here, then broke even
more by either evading taxes (being paid "under the table") or by commiting
identity theft (impersonating someone who can work here). Illegals on
public assistance are thieves. What they have done by "jumping the line"
is also unfair to all the immigrants who have followed the rules and are
waiting their turn to come here legally. So, what would you say to Mr. X,
who is waiting legally on some list, that he can't come in because some
"Mr. Jose Y" illegally crossed the border and took his place.

The crimes aren't just against the U.S. and the American people. The
crimes are also against all those legal immigrants who are following the
rules and get blocked by these "line cutters."

Societies have rules, and if you can't follow the rules, get out. That's
what prisons are for - holding places to punish the rulebreakers.

Give me a good reason why someone who breaks the rules of society should be
rewarded.

Then why is it a felony to be caught in the U.S. a second and subsequent
time?

(The first offense is a misdemeanor, a lesser crime.)
