In Firefox many pictures (i think only .jpg files) on websites appear
black when they are scaled under 100%.
I have to switch the full scale view to be see them.
Check your video drivers..............had the same problem awhile back
and drivers fixed it.
I notice on some video drivers, and not others. I am guessing it is
some X11 issue. I have also noticed that cards with broken drivers
will never display certain pages correctly using Firefox 3 and regardless
of zoom, such as this: http://www.google.com/firefox

I'm using the default slack12.2. So my video driver should load
itself.
I have a radeon card, radeon drivers is always loaded.
what else should i check?
Just a post to confirm I'm seeing the same behavior.
I'm only running -current a few days tho and am not close to finished with
my post-install configuring. I do have a radeon card (X1400) using the
radeonhd kernel driver at the moment, so it may be the kernel driver. I
don't usually build the fglrx driver until I know I'm happy with the
kernel so that may well fix things.
Never saw this behavior before regardless of the driver.
Try this in your xorg.conf (Section "Device") :
Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps" "true"
where did you find this?
in the radeon man they do not give all options.
A search with google. That doesn't work?
