Actress Faye Martin 1906-2008

Faye Martin who died in Waterloo in the Cedar Valley on November 9,
aged 102 was a former Broadway actress whose credits include As Good
as New (1930) opposite Marjorie Gateson and The Green Bay Tree (1933)
with husband and wife team Laurence Olivier and Jill Esmond. Anderson,
the daughter of business magnate Hope C. Martin, took over the
family’s wholesale tobacco and candy business interests after the
demise of her career and the death of her father in 1948. Her only
screen credit was with Ethlyne Clair in the all-star cast The Show of
Shows (1929).
