Paul Carr, an actor best known for his work in television, films, and
stage, has died in his home on Feb. 17 after a long and courageous
battle with lung cancer. Paul appeared in hundreds of TV show including
Quincy, Rockford Files, FBI, Dallas, Murder She Wrote, and will always
be remembered as Lt. Lee Kelso in the pilot for Star Trek. He performed
at The Mark Taper Forum appearing in "The Biko Inquest," "Celebration,"
and "Slivovitz" and also worked at the Arena Stage in Washington, DC.
where he appeared in "The Chemmy Circle." In 1987 Paul received the LA
Weekly Award for Best Actor in the Theatre East production of
"Manhattan Express" and a 1995 Dramalogue Award for his portrayal of
"Sam Byck" in the Los Angeles Repertory production of "Assassins." Paul
will be missed by his very brave 15 year old son, Michael; his wife,
two daughters, two granddaughters, and countless friends. His kindness
of heart, gentle spirit and extraordinary courage are an inspiration to
all who knew him. Rest well, Paul. Memorial Service Feb. 26 Temple Beth
