Mr. Harold John Holdwick, 73, of Bad Axe, passed away suddenly Friday,
Jan. 1, 2010 at the Huron Medical Center.
He was born on Oct. 11, 1936 in Sand Beach Township to the late Jerome
and Stella (Mausolf) Holdwick.
He married Theresa Learman on July 11, 1964 at St. Anthony Catholic
Church in Helena.
Harold was a graduate of the Ashmore Country School. He farmed with
his family and Booms Silo in their farming operation for 40 years.
Harold was a current parishioner at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly
since 1996. He was a former parishioner at Our Lady of Lake Huron
Catholic Church in Harbor Beach for over 30 years. He enjoyed
woodworking, lawn work and visiting with family and friends.
Harold is survived by his wife of 45 years, Theresa Holdwick of Bad
Axe; three daughters, Lynn (Len) Ferris of Sebewaing, Ann (Jim)
Messing of Frankenmuth, Denise (Phil) Fahrenbruch of Birch Run; eight
grandchildren, Landon Ferris, Jordan, Stephen and Seth Messing, Jacob,
Zac and Mia Fahrenbruch, Matthew McGee; mother-in-law, Evelyn Learman
of Cass City; seven brothers, Richard (Rosalia) Holdwick of Bad Axe,
Edward (Marie) Holdwick, William (Audrey) Holdwick, Paul (MaryAnn)
Holdwick, Ike (Dorothy) Holdwick, Gene (Marion) Holdwick all of Harbor
Beach, Dennis Holdwick of Kinde; five sisters, Arlene (Robert) Emming
of Harbor Beach, Linda Kirsch of Shelby Township, Marge (Dave) Androl
of Kingwood, Texas, Barbara (Robert) Ingles of LaJunta, Colo.,
Patricia (Carl) Roth of Port Austin.
He was preceded by one brother, Brian Holdwick; one brother-in-law,
Kenneth Kirsch, father-in-law, Arthur Learman.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at St. John
Catholic Church in Ubly. The Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will
officiate. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Helena.
Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly
Tuesday from 9-10 a.m.
Memorials are requested to the Michigan Parkinson's Association or the
Family Discretionary Fund.
