Orlando McFarlane, 69; Catcher Who Played For Pirates, Tigers And Angels

Orlando McFarlane, a major league catcher with the Pittsburgh Pirates,
Detroit Tigers and California Angels, died July 18th in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
He was 69.

His best season was in 1966 as a Tiger when he hit five home runs with a
.254 batting average. His career batting line was 5/20/.240.

He was with Pittsburgh in 1962 and in 1964 and was in Detroit for the 1966
season. The Angels bought his contract in April of 1967 and he spent the
next two seasons in California.
