Just curious as to how many shows some of us diehards have been to over
the years. I've been to 29 Mac shows with my 30th and 31st coming this
week. Please list how many you have been to. Has anyone followed them
like the "greatful dead" ( all over the place). Just curious. I expect
some people have been to more than fifty.

Well, as I wasn't really a die-hard Mac fan before 1993, I haven't been to
quite THAT many shows, Brian! :) But I haven't missed an opportunity
since that point - I've been to two Fleetwood Mac shows (Santa Clara in
1995 and Mountain View four days ago) - and one Stevie Nicks show
(Mountain View in 1994).

The Time lineup and Stevie solo shows were really good and I was
definitely impressed by both of them, but both paled in comparison to the
Rumours lineup!

Take care,

Chris

I feel like such a newbie! I have only been to one FM show, the one at Mountain
View on the 15. I wish I had the time or money to follow them on

I must have missed all of your posts about this. If you have time, do you
mind filling me in? I'd really like to know why it was so bad. Thanks.

WOW!! Brian!! I thought *I* was nuts...I'm not alone!!! After the two
shows at Irvine Meadows last weekend, that makes #32 & 33 collectively
(all in Southern California only!)....with another 11 or 12
individually....(Bob Welch 6x's, Stevie 4, Lindsey 1)...and then another
4 or 5 when one or two of them have shown up as special guests with
other people.

Don't feel like a newbie...be lucky that yoy had the chance to see the
Mac in this line up on this tour. Thousands and thousands of fans all
around the world still wait 'till they announce a further tour
outside that country called the US.....so you all in the US are very
very lucky to have the chance to see them. Be very aware of that folks
!!

Later !

Well
I cant match the 29 total
But Ive been to some great Mac shows
My first FM concert was in October of 1974
Bob Welch was still fronting the band with the Bermuda Triangle tour. I had
had a deep appreciation of Fleetwood Mac for several years, but this concert
made me a bonafide fan. I went out and bought every album to date, learned the
history, the works. I had everything by the time they came to town again
(Dallas/Ft Worth area) in May 1975. I was dissappointed when I heard Bob
Welch was no longer with the band. I thought it was all over. But I have
rarely been more happily surprised. The two skinny kids on stage with the
veteran Brits rocked the house - the back up band, Kansas, didnt show, but the
new Mac needed no help. They played most of the white album, a thorough review
of their catalog to date, including a nice chunk of Peter Green material and
a significant portion of Bare Trees.
# 3 was in Fall of 1975 same as the previous show just a little shorter,
with some slight changes in the set, smaller venue. The highlight - I was 4th
row stage right, directly in front of Mr. Buckingham.- the only guitar lesson
I've ever paid for.

#4 March 1977 - Rumours Tour. The worst of the batch. I've posted at length
about this concert several times, so I wont go into it again. I will mention
this one thing though. Someone recently posted that the current Dance tour
was the first not to feature "Oh Well" this particular concert in 1977 did
not either, although I think it was not representative of that entire tour
(Let it go , little friend)
#5 Just for fun, August 1995. Time lineup I had been a lot of other places
musically over the years and had just recently been relistening to some of the
old rock classics, and my love for the Mac was rekindled. I was aware of
Buckingham, Nicks and Christines departures, and had read reviews of the
Bekka/Billy/Mason lineup (not at all complimentary). But I wanted to go see
them anyway. Knew it was a nostalgia package, knew what I would hear. Went
anyway. Loved it. Especially fun was hearing Mason sing Dear Mr Fantasy
backed by the worlds best rythm section. My only disappointment was 2 mos
later when the Time album came out in the stores and I realized how much
better the show would have been if this lineup had played their own material.
Well also the sound at that venue was not so great. I had 14th row seats
center stage not too bad but the sound was muddled throughout the Mac
performance. (Benatar and REO did not suffer similarly) This is the same
place they will be appearing on the current tour.
That, along with several other more significant reasons will keep this coming
concert in Nov from being #6, but at this point in my life I can be content
with my memories and my Dance video. Hey - no outrageous prices, no
obnoxious fellow concert goers, no bad sound, and I can see it as many times
as I want.
I'd really like to see Mr. B tour solo with some fellow Macs in the entourage
at a smaller venue. Might try to get him to autograph my guitar.........

Well its not 29 but hey Im happy
Later dudes and dudettes
Peace and Love
JJ
