Hi everybody,

this is the second post for my website but it is very important that i
find a solution.
I run www.quasimodobell.com.

The site is up for some years, and it has a huge amount of information
inside that is completely wasted since we cant get any serious
traffic.

When we started a few years ago, we didnt know about seo, so we did a
lot of mistakes. Nevertheless we did get high rankings for many
keywords (we deal with music artists and bands) For several groups/
artists keywords we were on the first or second results page in
google. We had only a few douzens of artists yet we did reach up to
1000 unique visits a day,

A couple of years ago our mistakes (and there where pure mistakes not
efforts to cheat) got our site baned. We then started to do a lot of
seo reading to find out why. We made dozens of changes to our code and
content and after some months we managed to have our site viewed by
google again.

Since then we do a lot of seo work trying to reach the traffic we
deserve.
We have created sitemaps for google and yahoo. Google has 160.000
pages of our site indexed.
We have added our links to several sites. Besides wikipedia that
contains a lot of our links (we didnt add the them all ouselves, many
were added from other users who liked our site. That is to make clear
that we dont spam wikipedia), we have submited Manually to about 200
directories, and were approve to about 100 and finally we contacted
several relative sites mainly online music fanclubs and managed to get
listed to about 100. And thats only our work. We get links from blogs,
forums etc too like any website with good content does.

But the problem still remains. Even though we have links in so many
pages google sees only a few. I dont expect it to see all of them but
i dont understand why it comletely ignores links to our site from
pages with PR 3,2, and 4 even thought they are there for months.

Our trafic is very low, considering our content. We now have 100 times
more content than when we did, when we got listed to first results
pages. Ussually google brings only about 5% (!!!!). Sometimes that
rises up to 30% for a few days and then drops again. One day only
google brought about 1500uv and the next day almost nothing.

We tried hard and still do to raise our pagerank but no matter what we
do we are stuck to 3.
Even seomoz tools gave us a page strength of 3,5 and now it dropped to
2 !!!! for no reason. We dont change anything to our code. We tried to
stick to all basic seo roules and we only add content and create
legit backlinks but we get no obvious results.

Surely there must be something wrong we are doing, but we caant find
out what. It is quite depressing to have all this content and no
traffic.

If you could be so as kind to give some hints after reviewing our site
it would be very helpfull. Even you think that what we need is
professional help and you can do it please contact us to discuss it.

Thank you
Panos

What makes you think it ignores them? The link: operator isn't
accurate at all.

thank you for our anwer.
Te small pics are there only for those who now where to go. Most
people go to browse by style where you can read all styles clearly. We
will consider enlarging them though.

Yes we do have some probles with this. It is because aour database is
huge, and we try to make this better.

thanks again

Hi
Try validating your code, add a DTD and some h1 h2 tags.

The latter will help you with serps. The other two will help with
browswer not crashing, or your site looking odd in other engines.

Hi,

Those tiny, hard to read buttons across the top are apparently part of an
image map. Why?

They also have no alt text on them. Alt text should always be included on
images, especially images used for navigation. This will certainly be a help
to you.

cheers ~
