Hey, I'm married, attractive (check out my pic on the picpage.....:-)), and
I've posted first-hand gossip about Al Pacino, Russell Crowe, Richard Simmons
AND Little Richard! Even though I'm not loaded, Linda and Judith don't seem
threatened by me. What gives y'all? ;-)

I suspect that was written by Marley/Jack Parr/nym du jour who has never
gotten
over not being accepted in ASG as anything but a troll.

Jack's threatened by practically everything. Especially a NG that's

Are you kidding me? Jack, sweetie, what have you been smoking? There is no
group of "thugs" that run AGC. This California Girl person isn't a threat to
anyone, either.

Linda and Judith are accepted because certain
>people in this group can look down on them. Linda the fat lonely spinster
>with
>zero friends in real life and Judith the old fat loon desperately trying to
>look

I dunno what either of them look like and I don't care. Yeah, Linda can get
pretty nasty at times, but she does post gossip, or at least inside scoop
stuff.

Easy to accept because they are so pathetic. You on the other
>hand
>are attractive, married, have money, and also (very important) the potential
>to
>post REAL first hand gossip on occasion.

I suppose I shouldn't have killfiled CaliforniaGirl so soon, because I've
missed any gossip from her. All I've seen are posts that are all about her and
how wonderful her life is compared to all us bottom-feeders. When she knocks
off the netkook stuff AND posts something relevant or at least entertaining,
then she might be tolerated. And Jack, if you think I'm jellus/intolerant of
this person because of the reasons listed above, you're dead wrong.

>If you are patient, gracious, and turn the other cheek you will gradually win
>many of the other regulars over to you.

This is good advice, but will probably fall on deaf ears. Haven't you seen the
Kathy FAQ?

>of

But that isn't what's happening. Where the heck have you been, Jack? Do you not
see what a troll this person is, or are you just compelled to be the token
opposition?

Distancing yourself from the trolls who are
>supporting you now was a good move. Court people like Lisa and you will win

You are the first serious threat I have seen to the small group of thugs who
now
think they control this group. Linda and Judith are accepted because certain
people in this group can look down on them. Linda the fat lonely spinster with
zero friends in real life and Judith the old fat loon desperately trying to
look
important. Easy to accept because they are so pathetic. You on the other hand
are attractive, married, have money, and also (very important) the potential to
post REAL first hand gossip on occasion.
If you are patient, gracious, and turn the other cheek you will gradually win
many of the other regulars over to you.
Yes you will be hated and constantly ridiculed by that very small core group of
nasties (you know who they are) but in the end it won't matter. If you ignore
them, and make ton of on topic posts over time you will find more and more
regulars coming to your defense. Distancing yourself from the trolls who are
supporting you now was a good move. Court people like Lisa and you will win
this
group over.
Hang in there girl.

If you take this advice and it works out for you I will expect naked jpgs in my
mailbox.

That was nice of you, Jack. And the pics sound like a real plus. ;)

Considering the fact that Kathy has been distancing herself [and trying to
convince me to also, but I'm more stubborn] from the rat-pack, they sure can't
stop talking about her. It's obvious who the real trolls are. I should consider
it a compliment that they think I'm Kathy and that they hate me, too, because
of that.

Personally, I am finding all this "fat, lonely, spinster" talk, along with
the "have money" talk, rather offensive. I am not thin, not lonely, and
not married. How come so many assume that life for anyone not thin and
married is so bad compared to married and skinny?

I have many married friends. I know a couple who are actually happy that
way. I know a couple thin people who are over forty. It's in their genes.
They don't exactly *do* thin by some great personal actions... My thinnest
friend my age is the most neurotic of all my friends.

Has anyone ever considered that these "barometers" are a BIT off?

Of any of the stupid barometers I've seen here, the money thing makes the
most sense. Since we all know that money can DO things for us.

Is one "acceptable" if one has money but is fat? Or has money but
unmarried? Or if one is poor, but thin, is that a good thing? It's
interesting to me that so many talk about thin, married and money as IF
those are the factors that make one's opinions credible.

More interesting is that no one mentions intelligence. Which sorta/kinda
makes for what *I* think develops a good discussion.

BTW, I have cats. (Spinster, fat, old maid with cats...) Not really poor,
so I can't fit that negative descriptive.

<< FWIW, I am tired of the talk about my money. >>

I find the talk of money to be so funny. People assume that someone with money
cares only for money. The reason they think that is because if THEY had money,
THEY would be arrogant. The fact is, I have a number of friends who are
loaded....and they are generous beyond belief. I don't mean they are only
generous when asked...that too, but also they go out of their way to see a
person in need. Most of them are Christians and that has a lot ot do with it
b/c they certainly didn't grow up that way. One friend in particular makes a
ton of money [lawyer] and she is literally some times broke b/c she gives and
gives. And by "broke" I mean, *after* she pays her rent, student loans, credit
cards, etc. She rarely has anything in savings. Money does talk and sometimes
it has very nice things to say.

Aw, kee-rist, Jack, lay off already. Who the fuck cares what the Princess's
bank balance is? And who cares what Linda or Judith look like in real life?
They're interesting here on the group, regardless of whatever past or RL
history you have with them.
AGC has survived dumbshit flame wars, (particularly the ones that get
transplanted from ASG) before; it will survive this one too. Anyone who thinks
this signals the death of the group is- I'll be charitable- mistaken.

Two of my best friends have married in the last eight years. One has a jealous

the crazy ex-wife from hell and her spawn, the demon child. <g>

Consider the source. If there was a rabid skunk (or two) running around the
house, wouldn't you be glad he jumped in someone else's bed instead of yours?

interesting people who have been around the longest. What does that tell you?

What's the point of the castle if you can't get married in the gazebo?

Okay, I'll give you the gazebo.

See, guys? I'm nice. I'm like Switzerland.

So what are their names?

Linda C.

Assuming you are asking about my kitties, they are sisters, Jack and Lia.
And I Hated cats five years ago! Just goes to show how one with an open

I get your point, Linda. Just needed to say out loud how stupid I think it

That's bullshit. The Princess has fans because she is an extremely
clever and gifted writer. Her posts are fun to read. And she stays
away from the negativity that bottom dwellers like you seem to enjoy
so much.

Her bank account has nothing to do with it.

I noticed this myself. Any volunteer work I've done has been with a lot
of people who are out of work or who have been helped by the agency
in the past. If there are wealthy people doing the work, they certainly
hide themselves well. But then, most really wealthy people I've known
in real life are people who would never show it off.

Well, I never said they liked it. I said they did it and didn't complain. No
one likes to do it, but it's necessary and has to be done so there's no sense
in crying about it. As for me, I postpone and postpone until the very last

Little Mennonite church out in the country, pictures on the grounds of
an old stone farmhouse down the hill. We requested that everyone bring
a flower of some kind, any kind (even a weed from the side of the road)
and had some people arrange them in big vases in the church. It was
partly to reduce decorating and partly to make people feel like they were
part of the ceremony. I couldn't believe how gorgeous the church was
when we got to the altar. We had a string quartet doing all the music
because I don't like organ music and I really wanted the Brandenburg
Concerto #'s 3 and 4 at various parts of the ceremony instead of the
usual wedding music. Reception on the church grounds, everything
over by 4 PM, then off to Lake Huron (Point Clark) for a honeymoon.
That is my favourite place to vacation. I think my parents were actually a
little disappointed that they couldn't complain about the bill for the
wedding, like all their friends :) But I was so terrified of the actual
wedding
that I kept everything very simple and minimal. It turned out to be a
really fun day with no problems at all.

Sure, and donating cash. Maybe. But it doesn't seem like really
wealthy
people work much longer hours than anyone else. I'm not talking about
ambitious business people, more like people who have made the money
they want or people who are CEO's of companies but have a pretty
straight 9 to 5 schedule. At the companies I've worked for, when things
needed to get done and overtime was required, everyone from middle
managers down put in the extra time while the people who made those
decisions sailed out by 5 every day. Sure, they tend to have a more
specific education, have moved through "the ranks" to get where
they are. But they aren't working hugely long hours for their paychecks
in their current positions, and they get huge bonuses every year. I don't
believe
those people are working any harder at the current time than anyone else
so I don't really believe they don't have the time for volunteer work.

What I have noticed here is that these same people have lots of time to
sit on boards and talk about things, while other people do the work. But
the people sitting on boards and making decisions get their names mentioned
while the volunteers doing the grunt work don't. Of course this isn't
always the
case, and is only my own personal observation in the places I've
volunteered at. I've seen some exceptions, too. I rode in a cube van
or whatever those trucks are for moving stuff, collecting food donations
from fire halls years ago, with a man who dropped me off at home later
that day and my mother recognized him as the former CEO of the company
she worked for. I would never have known it - it's not like he talked
about his former work or his money or anything, and he was dressed
grubby for moving bags of food around. And why would "who he is"
matter in that capacity, anyway? He was able to drive a van and carry
bags around, that's all that was needed.

But I really don't think anyone should be obligated to do either
volunteer
work or donate to charity. I only meant, originally, that the people
I have worked with tended to be (by appearances and usually by
talking about it) out of work or recently helped by the group.

I lived in Vancouver for a while and wow - there are some nasty spots
there. Worse than anything I've seen anywhere else (in Canada). The
drug abuse problem, especially heroin, was so blatant. There were free
medical clinics there because I guess they still paid into a provincial plan
for health insurance - I was used to OHIP and never had to go to
a "free clinic" until I was in Vancouver. These places were staffed by
volunteer receptionists and doctors working for free. I had always
thought medical care was "covered" everywhere in Canada.

I did have some friends at the time who thought it would be fun
to show me the "seedier" side of Vancouver, so maybe I had more
than the usual taste of it. Don't get me wrong - I did like the city.
But there was stuff I saw there I've never seen anywhere else (on
such a scale).

Was it actual gossip or something she took from a website?

Gee...I felt like responding to messages from her followers who feel her to be
without fault.
As to why it appears that I can't stop talking about her...appears to kinda
happen when you're online, reading usenet, and sending your responses off one

Not at all....but it's rather interesting when that whole brouhaha took place
that Kathy, rather suddenly, developed this intense need to post several, if
not more, gossip tidbits (from websites) all in a posting row... something just
seems none too linear there.
Much of it we'd already known...

I actually want to be married in Vegas. Or on a boat that sails around
Manhattan (no, not the circle line). I don't want a church wedding and I
don't want a big wedding. I really would prefer to elope when the time

Friends of mine did it a few years ago on a cruise around Manhattan. I
refuse to have a church wedding, but I do want my uncle the minister to
officiate, so it'll be a compromise. Now I just have to find the groom
(although I'm working on that one;-).

There are some lovely places in Las Vegas to get married. The "Little
Church of the West" is on the edge of town, a perfect brown wooden
building right out of "Little House on the Prairie". It is a delightful
non
Vegas setting.

That's what my husband and I did a year and a half ago. It was my first, his
second. We stayed at the Venetian and got married at the Little Church of the
West. We flew ten of our friends and family out with us. Had an absolute blast!
I, like you, I didn't want the hassle of a huge wedding and risking pissing
everyone off in the process of decision-making. I don't regret a thing.
Besides, I wholeheartedly believe the *bigger* the wedding, the *quicker* the
divorce!

Isn't that Church lovely? Friends of ours were married there when it

non-denominational.

In the new location, it has pretty backgrounds for photos.
