Another good summary of the typical Christian Repubidiot. Here we
take a look at the shitbag cultists who hate our country try to
explain that Romney's medical reform plan is bad for America when
a black man does it.

Now that's more like it. That gaffe by Bobby Jyndal about halfway
through the clip is hilarious.

Damn, when is that fuckin' pathetic dike going to get over Sarah Palin being
right about death panels while she was full of shit again?

April 13, 2011 - The deficit-reduction plan unveiled by President Barack
Obama today strengthens a cost-control tool in healthcare reform that
organized medicine fears.

The savings mechanism is the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB).
Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the IPAB will advise Congress on ways
to curb the per capita growth of Medicare spending if it exceeds growth-rate
targets set by the law.

If it does not implement IPAB recommendations, Congress must enact policies
that save just as much, or else let the Department of Health and Human
Services make the cuts.

http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/740830

Krugman explains:

"About that advisory board: We have to do something about health care costs,
which means that we have to find a way to start saying no. In particular,
given continuing medical innovation, we can't maintain a system in which
Medicare essentially pays for anything a doctor recommends."

10 States Dying For Health Insurance: 24/7 Wall St.
24/7 WallSt.  |
By Alexander E. M. Hess and Samuel Weigley
Posted: 06/26/2012 3:37 pm
Updated: 06/26/2012 3:38 pm
24/7 Wall St.: The Supreme Court of the United States is set to rule
this week on the constitutionality of the Patient Protection and
Affordable Care Act. Regardless of how the ruling turns out, the lack
of medical coverage in America is a serious problem. Approximately 50
million people were uninsured all through 2010.
The lack of medical
insurance has had grave consequences on
individuals and the nation.
In 2010 alone, 26,100 people died because
they had no health
insurance — that is 502 preventable deaths a week.
However, some
states fared better than others. Based on the latest
report by
Families USA, a health care consumer advocacy group, 24/7
Wall St.
identified the 10 states with the highest number of deaths
per
100,000 people due to a lack of insurance.
Not surprisingly, nearly
all of the states with the most residents
dying due to a lack of
insurance also had high numbers of uninsured
residents. Seven of the
states on the list were among the 10 states
with the highest
percentage of people without health coverage. Seven
of the states
were also in the bottom 10 for the lowest rates of
private insurance
coverage.
People without health insurance often forgo medical
treatment for
different reasons. According to Families USA, a
supporter of President
Obama’s health care reform law, uninsured
adults are nearly four times
more likely than insured adults to delay
or avoid preventive care
screening due to cost. Uninsured adults are
also nearly seven times
more likely to go without needed care due to
cost than privately
insured adults.
“You still see a very, very
strong correlation between uninsurance and
poor healthcare outcomes —
including mortality — and [that is] because
people aren’t getting the
type of care that they need,” Kim Bailey,
the research director for
Families USA, told 24/7 Wall St.
Many of the states with high death
rates due to a lack of insurance
also were among the poorest states
in the country. The top seven
states on this list also are among the
10 states with the highest
poverty rates. Every state on this list is
in the top half.
Poor health also appears to play an important role.
States with high
death rates due to lack of insurance had a high
percentage of people
with lifestyle-related risk factors for poor
health. Of the states on
our list, five of them have among the 10
highest percentages of
smokers and among the 10 lowest percentages of
people who eat
vegetables at least three times a day. Four have among
the 10 highest
proportions of overweight or obese adults. Seven
states on the list
were in the bottom 10 in terms of life
expectancy.
Based on Families USA’s report, “Dying for Coverage: The Deadly
Consequences of Being Uninsured,” 24/7 Wall St. identified the 10
states with the highest number of deaths from being uninsured per
100,000 residents. 24/7 Wall St. reviewed the methodology used by
Families USA, first developed in 2002 by the Institute of Medicine,
to
determine excess mortality from being uninsured. This method
considers
the proportion of people who are insured and uninsured, the
mortality
risks for the uninsured and the number of expected deaths
from a
hypothetical fully insured population. 24/7 Wall St. also
identified
poverty rates and median income by state, provided by the
U.S. Census
Bureau. The Kaiser Family Foundation’s website —
Statehealthfacts.org
— provided health-related data, including life
expectancy, obesity and
diabetes rate.

Well at least she can't be biased by having an IQ, she'll be starting
with a blank slate or a freshly shaken etch-a-sketch, as she likes to
suggest.

It will probably be one more thing she knows nothing about, yet exudes
endless faith in her own ability to measure in others.

To be fair six or seven posts about US health care has nothing to do
with this newsgroup until you realize that global warming will be
adding to all costs including heath care.

The reason why Christianic Republinazis hate her is because she's
not only three times smarter than any Republidiot, she's a raging
homosexual who gets more pussy than Jimmy Swaggart.

Her coverage of the typical Christofascist Republidiot's IQ and
the delusional derangement they labor from -- and inflict upon the
United States -- is spot on accurate, so much so you shit your

CNN doesn't have crazies on (O'Reilly, Hannity, van Sustern, Doosey,
Crowley, Beck until recently, Goldberg, Morris, ...). Tell me anybody

Our biggest problem is not republicans or democrats, or any sitting
president.

It is our own human nature.

Our big hurdle now is the House of Representatives and the Senate. The
members of both bodies are now more interested in enriching themselves
off the public via special interests than doing anything meaningful.
Our own greed is manifested in their actions and it's all because of
ourselves. How can they NOT take the corporate and union $$$ while all
the time taking special interest $$ Why bother working for the people
when unions and corporations enrich them more ?

Humans are inherently looking for something easy, just our nature.
Reason 47 % don't pay any real taxes. And our unfair tax code allows
this. (truly fair is a flat tax for everyone)
Reason the wealthiest people pay more in total tax $$ than the rest of
the taxpayers. and yet we have open class warfare being practiced by the
liberal part of the democratic party. Big oil paid 42.8 billion in taxes
in 2010, yet they are demonized as greedy when their profit per dollar
is 5.7 cents. go figure.

It's our basic human nature that is doing us in, not republicans or
democrats...

In recent years we have seen a push to reduce the minimum wage,
reduction in wages for skilled and unskilled labor, elimination of
benefits for the workers, all of which made running an entity more
profitable, and working for that entity less profitable. Not hiring
workers simply because they have been out of work for too long, come
on, you seem to have missed some history lessons.

And yet...

We have seen even the poor in the US achieve a higher standard of
living. I actually saw homeless people the other day panhandling who had
cell phones. Which BTW, many people considered poor in the US have,
along with cable and air conditioning. So the standard of what is
considered poor in the USA is a luxury that many of the worlds poor
would love to have.

We also have seen just how poor the govt is when given full control of
running things. Like Amtrak, the US merchant marine fleet which was
wiped out by govt Reg's. The post office which is always running in the
red ink.

And we have seen govt sector employees get wages, healthcare, pensions
and benefits far in excess of what the private sector can get. We have
seen unionized local and state employees get the same thing, all footed
by the citizenry. Union pension plans are bankrupting many local and
state govt's now, hence Walker winning Wisconsin re call election and
cities in CA voting against the unions. The voters/public have had enough.

Come one, you seem to have missed looking at how far we have come in
history already.

And what you missed the most is that when the political pendulum swings
far to one side, it always goes back the other way. So think about that
when it happens.....

You mean you think such advancements such as a cell phone justify a
reduction in a workers wages and benefits, thats idiotic and absurd as
the cost of living is the issue. Im sure you have seen a person that
you would call "poor" with cell phones, but im not realy sure you
have seen real poverty. Working single moms, whose income is based on
a minimum wage waiting tables, or cleaning homes are below the scope
of your non realistic right wing rant. Unions made the workforce
strong, and the middle class strong, it seems you want to erode away
at those gains.

Once upon a time unions were necessary and needed. They have outlived
that usefulness now. They are bleeding local and state govts dry and the
public does not want to pay anymore. When GM got bailed out, the unions
got paid off before the true shareholders. And who made out ? The union
bosses. What were the unions really mad about in Wisconsin ? The fact
that the govt no longer had to take union dues out from employee
paychecks. What was the result ? 32,000 out of 64,000 union members
opted on their own to stop paying the dues. The members themselves
didn't want to be a part of it !!

Care to address this ?

The private sector has the lowest union membership in decades, people
just are not interested in unions anymore in this information age when
they can get redress for their grievances legally and air them in public
in a way never seen before.

And yes I worked construction for almost 30 years so I could retire
fairly young and enjoy my life. I was quite poor when younger, and quite
well off now, I earned it through HARD WORK. I give at church and I
donate to charities of my choosing. What more do you want ?

Used to be in this country anyone who was smart enough and hard working
enough could get ahead and do well for themselves. Now it seems we have
a new generation who wants it handed to them from others who they
perceive as being soo much better off than they. Well screw that.......

Some will always do better and some will always do worse it's just the
way it is. Nor is it the responsibility for you, me or anyone to reduce
yours, mine or any others lifestyles just in the false name of social
justice.

Truly fair would be a progressive tax where the rich actually did pay
a higher percentage of their "income" in taxes than the middle class.
Take the % income taxation of Romney's income (14%) and compare that to
the % income taxation of, say, a doctor or dentist or teacher who actually
*works* for that money.

That was worth looking into: Here is the tax breakdown for Exxon Mobil.
Note that they earned $15.1 billion world-wide and paid *minus* $156
million in U.S. federal taxes and 110 million (that is less than 1%) in
state and local taxes. Net tax income to the U.S. was *minus* $46
million. IOW, they got more money *from* other U.S. taxpayers than
they paid.

http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2010/news/1004/gallery.top_5_tax_bills/2.html

Here is the breakdown for Chevron.
http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2010/news/1004/gallery.top_5_tax_bills/3.html
World-wide income: $8 billion
U.S. income tax: *minus* $19 million
State and local: $230 million.
Net U.S. taxes: $211 million (tax rate of 2.6%)

Companies with similar results with net *negative* tax rates
in the U.S. included Bank of America (*minus* $3.5 billion),
G.E., but that was because they suffered losses rather than
profits like the oil companies.

These oil companies *did* pay high taxes; just not to the U.S.

Wal-Mart, in contrast to the oil companies, did pay at close to the federal
corporate tax rate of 35% (it paid 32.4%). The difference between
Wal-Mart's and the oil companies is that Wal-Mart doesn't get all the
tax breaks of the oil companies and are less able to hide profits
overseas.

[I have no problem with lowering the corporate tax rate to closer to
the world-wide average, so long as that is accompanied with changes
so that companies that sell in the U.S. are not able to hide that
money overseas or get expensive tax breaks.]

Plus these vulture capitalists and the rest of the financial "services"
industry does not contribute anything to society, they "make money" by
moving money, they do not actually produce any goods or services, they
are vampires sucking the creativity and productivity out of society.

You mean you are claiming that you once benefitted from the unions,
and you now you are arguing that others who find themselves in the
same place you once did years ago dont deserve that very same
protection you received from unions. I got it, its rather obvious you
are a hypocrite. Another rather obvious point is that if business
treated employees fair, they would not need the protection of unions.
I remember the history of the meat packing industry around the 1900's,
you might want to read upton sinclairs "the jungle", as nobody could
get ahead in the working environment. Now lets take a look at minimum
wage employees are you claiming that such a wage can pay for a family,
or are you claiming the only who receive a minimum wage are those who
are just entering the workforce.

I NEVER have been a union member, or worked for a union shop. I live in
a right to work state which is doing far better than many other states
right now.

You mean like the way government treats people fair...

Please show me a US business that is treating it's employees unfairly ?

Yeah, you have to go back to the early 1900's to find a time when unions
were needed. Got any more recent examples, like within the past 20 years
or so ? After WW II they became less and less important till you reach
today where they are not needed anymore,

Just entering the workforce. Just like Social Security, never meant as
retirement, but as a supplement. (As originally intended)

Just a couple of months ago Walmart was ordered by a court to pay
nearly 5 million in back wages, now if they had union representation
such malicious acts by the employer would not have occurred or would
have been stopped much much earlier. You don’t get it took 5 years
for restitution, a third party like a union informs the employee of
their rights on a much faster timescale. A third party (union) helps
the employee through an arbitration process against an employer
avoiding litigation, forcing the employer to change its bad practices
without tying up the courts. In this very large case the courts
worked, but it took 5 years, and 3 U.S. departments to bring the case,
that’s a whole lot of power that one employee did and does not have in
making there daily case for better working conditions. So you are
advocating malicious treatment of employees, wasting government
dollars investigating companies for something the employer knew they
did wrong, but only when the court orders them to do so, they stop and
change their ways. Meanwhile 5 years past, which allowed the company
to exploit more employees, and by the way, we are talking about people
who provide for their family

"Kentucky death case: Another black eye for state workplace safety
enforcement
Kentucky's deletion of all violations in worker death case criticized
by victim's family, feds.
By Jim Morrisemail
6:00 am, August 17, 2012 Updated: 3:02 pm, August 17, 2012
Around midnight on June 1, 2007, Tina Hall was finishing her shift in
a place she loathed: the mixing room at the Toyo Automotive Parts
factory in Franklin, Ky., where flammable chemicals were kept in open
containers.A spark ignited vapors given off by toluene, a solvent Hall
was transferring from a 55-gallon drum to a hard plastic bin. A flash
fire engulfed the 39-year-old team leader, causing third-degree burns
over 90 percent of her body. She died 11 days later.

After investigating the accident, the Kentucky Labor Cabinet’s
Department of Workplace Standards cited Toyo for 16 “serious”
violations and proposed a $105,500 fine in November 2007. “You’re
disappointed because you think, that’s all they got fined?” Hall’s
sister, Amy Harville, of Moulton, Ala., said in a telephone interview.
“But then I thought, at least they got 16 violations. I was thinking
they’d stick, as severely as she was burned.”The violations didn’t
stick. Every one of them went away in 2008, as did the fine, after
Toyo’s lawyer vowed to contest the enforcement action in court. Last
month, in a move believed to be unprecedented in Kentucky, the
Department of Workplace Standards reinstated all the violations
because, it said, the company hadn’t made promised safety
improvements.

The case was another black eye for state-run workplace health and
safety programs nationwide. In all, 26 states administer their own
programs under federal supervision. Several have been criticized in
recent years for capitulating to lawyered-up employers, performing
subpar inspections and shutting out accident victims’ families...."

Still no reply from AM, he did say "Please show me a US business that

tina hall. The point is that just like many that share his political
views, once they are challenged with the facts they do not act with
the same vigor as when they thought they had the upper hand i wonder
why?
