Q:Will the races' base buildings (Nexus, Comm Center, Hatchery) be
made at the same speed?
A:Yes. Even though each side expands its base in its own way, in
certain scenarios (like games starting with one worker), we don't
want one race getting _too_ much of a head start :)
Q:How many missions can you string together in a single campaign?

Q:In the modem game, will there be an indicator showing the
connection speed (14.4, 28.8, etc)?
A:Yes, when you select speed.
Q:If you have two forces in a custom campaign, does a certain force
have to win in order to advance to the next map?
A:This will be determined within the map victory conditions, which
you can set.
Q:Will there be different AI's you can use in the map editor?
A:Yes.
Q:Will space terrain work differently than water terrain?
A:Space and water will work similarly in the game. They'll both stop
ground units without a transport, and the flying units of Starcraft
can cruise through (or over, as the case may be) either with the same
ease.
Q:Can you specify a maximum latency for your game?
A:No, you can't specify a maximum latency, though you will be able to
tell someone's latency from the chat rooms to see if you'd like to
play with them.
Q:Will super weapons take time to charge up?
A:Yes.
Q:Does Starcraft use UDP packets to transfer game data (like Diablo)?
A:Yes.
Q:Can a landing Terran building be used to crush enemy forces?
A:No. There'll be plenty of ways to get rid of those pesky enemy
ground forces, though the mobile buildings will not have such a
"hands-on" ("feet-down"?) role.
Q:Will the Protoss be able to use Mind Control powers on each race
(including other Protoss players)?
A:While the Protoss have some very potent psionic abilities, Mind
Control is not one of them.
Q:If a basic structure is destroyed, what happens to any auxiliary
structures? If they aren't blown up, will the controlling player
lose possession of the attached buildings? Can auxiliary structures
be targeted separately from the basic structure to which they're
attached?
A:Yes, you lose control of it once the main structure is blown up.
And yes, you can target the add-on separately.
Q:Can an abandoned auxiliary building be infested?
A:Yes (personal note: heheheh...more pawns for the Overmind!).
Q:If a player leaves a multiplayer game, what happens to his units
and buildings? Will they remain like they did in War2?
A:Yes.
Q:Do the Zerg speak English?
A:A Zerg player will receive messages in English (or French, German,
etc. depending on where you buy the game), but the Zerg do not
technically speak Human languages. Certain, psychically sensitive,
folks may be able to understand them, though...

Q:What happens to an infested building after it's used up all of its
infested Terrans? Will it ever be able to make more?
A:Nope.
Q:What type of help/tutorials will the game itself offer?
A:The game will have a solid interface that will be easy to use, as
well as context-sensitive pop-up help. The controls of the game will
be quickly learned, freeing the players to develop their game skills.
Q:Is Starcraft going to fit on one CD?
A:Yes. Just barely.
Q:In the installation screen shot on your web site, there are no
resource indicators. Does this mean there are no resources in
installation missions?
A:True.
Q:Will exploding vehicles or buildings cause splash damage?
A:No (if you just lost a vehicle, however, you probably should be
worried about what killed it...).
Q:Can you disable certain units/buildings when making a map with the
map editor?
A:Yep :)
Q:If you drag a rectangle around more than 12 units, which units will
be selected?
A:It'll be determined arbitrarily.
Q:How quickly do the Zerg infest mines? Can Terrans or Protoss still
use it while it's undergoing this process?
A:The resource model has undergone some changes recently. In the new
model, the Zerg don't infest mines.
Q:Will installation missions have different "planes" (like
the inside of a building having its own map)?
A:Nope.
Q:Must creep be destroyed by certain weapon types?
A:Well, the way to destroy some creep is to take out Zerg buildings
within the creep (when you do this, it will begin to recede).
Buildings don't require special weapons to destroy.
Q:Can it grow on a space occupied by an enemy unit?
A:Yes.
Q:Can a unit being attacked by a cloaked unit fight back?
A:Not without detection (nasty...).
Q:Are player names for battle.net games battle.net ID's?
A:Yes.
Q:Is there any way to get rid of the Zerg infestation of a building?
A:Blowing up the building is your only option (and that's probably
not a bad idea...).
