My story is very upsetting but, as a feminist, I must tell it. There was a
boy around campus that always seemed kind of shy and nerdy. He usually
dressed in Star Trek or Star Wars t-shirts and was somewhat awkward. Still,
I was happy to just be friends with him and he helped me with my math.
Sometimes he would buy sodas for me and my friends and we always told him he
was so nice - like a little brother. He would tell us how cute we were and
sometimes we let him sit with us at lunch. We loved to laugh at him when he
did his impression of Captain Picard speaking in Klingon. Suddenly, everyone
noticed a slow but steady change in him. He stopped being so friendly and
stopped buying us stuff. He was not even dressing like himself. His new
shirts, pants and shoes made him look like some kind of poser from a GQ.
Some of the girls said he was kind of cute, now. That made me mad. I started
calling him the TREKKIE JERK. I even slapped him when he was laughing at my
new, emo look. One night, when I was alone in the library, I saw the JERK
and asked him why he was not my friend, anymore. I told him that we missed
his old self. He took my hand and led me to a dark corner of the library. He
looked deeply into my eyes and said "Don't you get it? I'm not that person
anymore. Just because I was a dork doesn't mean that I have to be a dork for
the rest of my life. This is the real me. Can't you accept that I am a grown
man?" Then he kissed me. I was so shocked to hear this from the boy that was
like my little brother just a few weeks before. I ended up sleeping with him
that night. It felt good. But I was sad that I had lost my virginity. I also
missed my old, nice friend that was so much like a little brother. But
somehow, I felt that I had gained something new. It was both wonderful and
confusing.

Later that week, I went to his dorm room. He was out, but the door was
unlocked. I went in to hide and surprise him, but I made a disturbing
discovery. On his computer, was a seduction website. I read a little and was
revolted! On this site were lists of techniques and ways to seduce women.
Almost everything was aimed at female attraction to "alpha males" and
subconscious suggestions. Also on his desk was "The Game: Penetrating the
Secret Society of Pickup Artists". Some pages had passages that were
highlighted. This book teaches and glorifies the con artistry of these
pickup tactics. All that crap he said in the library were just lies to sleep
with me. I just knew that something was wrong with his sudden
transformation. I had been date raped by a con artist.

When I went off to college, I was well aware of the date rape issue. I was
aware of the use of drugs by various perverts and frat boys to have their
way with women. My parents taught me to be conservative and save myself for
just the right man. So, I kept my eyes open and stayed away from dangerous
situations. Little did I know that boys are learning subtle forms of rape
and coercion taught freely on the internet and in books. Women need choices.
Yes means yes and no means no. "The Game" teaches methods around NO just as
effective as date rape drugs or alcohol. The methods are designed to seduce
women at a biological level, thus depriving us of choice. Men are using our
natural female sex drive to rape us. It stole my virginity and my friend.
Bookstores and internets are partially responsible for distributing these
rape manuals. I read-up on these in order to better protect my body and my
choices. Women don't have to read books or internet sites to become more
attractive. We are honest with each other and the opposite sex. Men should
treat us with respect and dignity. Women still like nice guys. Here are some
telltale signs that a man is trying to use unfair techniques to rape you.

1.. A man that is normally introverted is suddenly becomes more
inquisitive and expressive with you. Most of his approaches will seem
friendly and interesting. Stuff like ESP, palm reading and magic tricks are
popular.
2.. Trying to act more dominant("alpha male") and behaving with a new
confidence. Trying to suddenly be the center of attention or making all the
decisions.
3.. Negative hitting("negging") to lower your self-esteem. This comes in
the form of subtle, humorous insults and backhanded compliments. Be on the
lookout for men trying to break you. He may be trying to use tactics to
lower your defenses and rape you.
4.. He is suddenly acting cocky and funny. This teasing behavior is known
among pick up artists to attract the attention of women.
5.. He speaks more in terms of feelings and emotions. He is trying to
subconsciously arouse your desires. He is trying to establishing an
emotional connection.
6.. He wears colorful or flamboyant articles of clothing. This is called
peacocking.
7.. He seems to mirror your every body movement. This is a classic method
to brainwash women into viewing men as mates.

Powerful seduction techniques in the hands of innocent boys is like handing
a loaded gun to a baby. You don't want your son to contract aids by seducing
random women. Parents should watch for warning signs in their teen sons.
These signs may include:

1. A sudden increase in confidence or a brash attitude.

2. Suddenly has multiple girlfriends over a short period of time.

3. When he breaks up with a girl, he shows no signs of remorse or sadness.
This means he is becoming a hardened con.

4. You may find seduction manuals in his room. Examples would be "The Game"
by Neil Strauss, "Seduction" by Robert Greene, "How to Win Friends and
Influence People" by Dale Carnegie, "Virus of the Mind" by Richard Brodie
and anything from Anthony Robbins or concerning NLP.

5. He may be on the web more often than usual. www.fastseduction.com and the
newsgroup alt.seduction.fast teach boys how to seduce women and break our
natural defenses against unwanted male attention.

You have obviously never been raped. Rape is when someone forces you to have sex. You may feel like crap because you gave it up but it wasn't rape in any form. It's stories like this that make people ask questions and skeptical of rape accusers. YOU WERE NOT RAPED!!! And I hope, for your sake, that you never tell this story to a true rape survivor.
