This is another good month for furry stuff beyond the usual periodical
pamphlets. *The Saga of Rex* is the standout but there's plenty more,
including a couple of interesting comic strip collections.

AUG100440 The Saga of Rex sc, 200pg, color $17.99
by Michel Gagné
'Michel Gagne's lush and colorful illustrations, combined with
cinematic storytelling, have earned *The Saga of Rex* a worldwide
following. For the first time, the complete and unabridged tale
originally serialized over a period of seven years in the award-
winning anthology *Flight* is now available in all its glory.
Gagne's work on *The Saga of Rex* was nominated twice for the Joe
Shuster Award in the best writer/artist category.'
If you haven't been following this wordless story in *Flight* you've
been missing a beautiful work. Enigmatic aliens, strange landscapes,
cyclopean structures, overall beautiful drawing and coloring, and an
epilogue that gives some idea of what the hell was going on. I'm not
sure it qualifies as anthro, since it isn't clear that Rex is anything
but a plain red fox (unlike his morphing honeybunch), but who cares?
Highly recommended.
