New series, airing on MTV as I write.

Finally, the weres are something besides foils and sidekicks for the
sparklebats again.

It occurred to me recently that the superheroic teenage werewolf
‘Howler’, one of the characters in the early-80s TV cartoon ‘Drak
Pack’, actually preceded the original ‘Teen Wolf’ by a good couple of
years.

Personally I prefer Howler, even if the animators did more often draw
him like a Muppet than anything remotely fearsome.

And "Drak Pack" was preceeded by "Fangface".

It's MTV, and has the word teen in it, so the emo is a given. They've
defined alphas as a whole different class "more powerful, more animal"
so who knows, maybe we'll see about the cgi.

What with Twilight, The Vampire Diaries, The Gates and Being Human and
the whole "Oh yeah, and we got werewolves too" attitude though, it's a
pleasant surprise to see them focus on them for a change.

Of course, we all remember how well that went over with Wolf Lake.

??

Is this supposed to have some connection with the Michael J. Fox
movie?

unless they give us something along the lines of Van Helsing's CGI
efforts, i'm expecting a yawn-fest.

Underworld was a bit better than those...Sanctuary roped me in with their
hacker computer nerd lycan...unfortunately for me his role is minor at
best.

Ugh...too much soap opera. i suspect i'd have to script an werewolf
themed movie myself to ever be satisfied...

True, and "Fangface" was preceded by "The Monster Squad", with a pre-Love
Boat Fred Grandy in the lead role. Personally, I prefer "Teen Wolf" in the
original; it had more character development for the werewolf than any of the
shows that preceded it.

If you know the code of Hollywood movie posters, think of it as "inspired

Well, if a "Battlestar Galactica" revival could wind up cool, and
a "My Little Pony" revival could wind up cool, I guess a "Teen Wolf"
revival could wind up cool as well.

If 'My Little Pony' is cool, then cool is no longer cool.

Hmm. An apparently relevant item was in the "Broken Plot Device" comic. I
did wonder what it was about.

Weren't you the guy who used to call himself "Caged Horse"? How can
someone named "Caged Horse" not like "My Little Pony"? It looks like
you haven't changed since the time I suggested you change your name to
"Lame Horse" instead.

I guess it's only fair that I give this new show a shot when I have
time. Still, I'm going to have trouble not thinking about this as I
watch the show.:

Oh, how I laughed! And you could call yourself "InfantileCretin1969".
