I never got into SpongeBob, so I can't comment on that, but I just
hope that's not the fate of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic :^(

But if we get seven good years out of it, maybe that's enough...

Spongebob is a kids show for kids. What saddens me is that I wasted all
of two minutes reading that boring essay on why its now "OMG! TEH SUX0R!!!"

If you want to see a kickass cartoon watch SECRET MOUNTAIN FORT AWESOME!

Word, bitches.

I think I'll write an essay on how 'The Drak Pack' was a metaphor for
the Reaganite 80s, symbolising the baby-boom generation's embrace of
conformity as they approached middle age... ;-)

Spongebob's "downfall" is due to it being badly drawn, badly animated,
badly written and badly acted drivel created by and for the highly
immature audience that think fart jokes are immensely funny. If it's
finally over, then thank the Great Animator for that. :-(

And I think I'll put together a 'wish-list' of series I'd like to see in
the coming year(s).

Among them:

Daria, the College Years
(self-explanitory)

Drawn Together Again
(with spoofs are Daria, Invader Zim, Pucca, Gadget Hackwrench, The Maxx,
XJ-9 and Misery (from Ruby Gloom) as its main cast)

Rage-chan
(a wish-fulfillment show where annoyances get tortured/killed by the title
character)

Imagi
(where random humor/storytelling and creative character designs collide)

Let's what happens, though. ^_^U

Signed,
Warewolf
who could have mentioned a cynical genie series where an infinite number of
[mature] wishes are granted.

You mean as opposed to the "stellar" work of *South Park*, 15 seasons
strong? 9.9 I don't care for Spongebob, myself, but I'm a bit past the
target age bracket. For me, the style is too reminiscent of Ren & Stimpy,
what with all the biological humor... but I have toa cknowledge it's got a
style that attracts small children.
