The commercial which featured a lion walking through Wall Street

Momma mia, that's a spicey-a meatball-a!

"I'm not hungry, I'll just pick." [woman then sucks up huge forkful

I liked that "Coke Adds Life" ad in which a brass bed is being rolled
down the street with people in it. I was 15 and frustrated about still
being under my parents' rule and this somehow symbolized freedom and the
high life to me.

Now I'm confused. Isn't this whole thing from the same song? I think it
was ". . .and bring out your best, because life's too short to settle
for less. . .Something something or life's no good at all, go for the
gusto or don't go at all."

I was pretty young in the '70s, so my feelings of being trapped are linked
to '80s images (pretty scary, huh?) Anyway,(back to the '70s) anyone
remember the "Ultra Brite" commercial with the swinging singles & the
blond girl in the "Superhero" outfit.I think it even promised to give your
teeth "Sex appeal". Also that "Pearl Drops Tooth Polish" ad where the
woman would run her tongue over her teeth & go "Mmm... It's a great
feeling!" This really freaked out my Aunt once, who then snapped off the
tv & complained about filth in the media. At the time, I had no idea what
she was upset about!!! What was it with the sexy toothpaste ads ? :)

Brian Tochi (from the kids show "Razzmatazz") was in that commerical.
Remember the wife: "My husband - some hot shot! Here's his ancient
Chines secret - Calgon..."

then, at the end of the commerical:

wife: "We need more Calgon!"
customer: "Ancient Chinese secret, huh?"

A funny thing
can happen to your car.
Before you've even driv-en very far.
Its a funny little put-down (boop-boop!)
When ya put your foot down (boop boop)
And that's what hesitations' all about!!!

I know this song was for some kind of gas, maybe Esso (man, I *AM* old..)
but I can't remember.
I also used to LOVE the commercial for tires where the car turns into a
tiger and races along the road.
Anyone out there in NC? Remember the big red animated cardinal that
advertised for the State Fair? I remember him saying "State Fay-yah!" like
Colonel Sanders or something!

My Grandparents had a sailboat back in the 70's. They named the boat "Fly

I think this campaign was in the 80s too. I think the 70s Toyota ads said:
"You asked for it. You Got it. Toyota."

Ooohh. I just remembered the Taste Buds. Was this a 70s thing? Bunch of
guys that were supposed to be taste buds on a tongue. Then, someone threw
suds at them, which was supposed to be beer. Pretty gross, actually.

Actually that particular jingle came from a 1980 ad I have
on videotape. I messed up. It is taboo mentioning
anything from the 1980s... Sorry.....
Stroh's was around in the 1970s, but I do not remember
any of their ad campaigns which were prevalent from about
1980-1986....

Hi Steve
No. But I understand why you are confused.
Hellman's Mayo and or Best Foods ran a similar jingle..

"Bring out the Hellman's and bring out the best"

And "Bring out the Best Foods and bring out the best"
I am beginning to wonder if that ad ran in the 1970s
or not?
The Budweiser ad with that jingle was
"Bring out the best, bring out the best, repeat,
Budweiser......"
I think that ad was in the mid 1980s...I did not
post it....

I think those lyrics you mentioned is the Schlitz jingle
itself.....

I think there was....the character was a Burger king. He had that long

black hair....and yes, I think he could kick Ronald's butt. Amy

I vaguely remember a commercial introducing the Whopper and Whopper
Jr.:

It takes two hands to handle a whopper
The two fisted burger at Burger King

There were a couple of kids in it as well as a Burger King character
(a short man with a robe and crown). One of the kids couldn't eat the
burger because it was too big, so the king introduced a new burger
(the Whopper Jr.). One kid said something like "yay, king," then the
music came back on:

It takes two hands to handle a whopper
(Enter kid's voice with "And this one's just right for me!"
Because the burgers are bigger at Burger King!

Hellman's is made by the Best foods company. Various commercials
revolving around that jingle, and Best Food's mayo, go back as far as
the mid 60's at least.
Good Mayo too !!!!

Actually, the Norelco Santa (Philishave outside the USA) dates back to
the 1960s. I'll bet he will have a smoother ride on the new Reflex Action
heads.
