I'm currently involved in a project which involves doing covers of classic
1970's songs. Anyone have any suggestions as to what they'd like to hear.
Remember that this is an industrial band, and the music will be redone
accordingly...

E-Mail me with any input. Thanks.

I've two suggestions,
First I always thought an industrial remake of 'Eve of Destruction'
(by Barry McGuire, I think) would be neat.
Second, a bit more challenging, but none the less interesting,
I think 'Come Dancing' by The Kinks would be fun.
Good luck... Let us know what you decide on.

Just for the record, the Dickies did a pretty cool cover of "Eve
of Destruction" - it's on "Great Dictations," which has some other great
70's oriented covers (Banana Splits theme, "Paranoid," "Sounds of Silence,")
and a bunch of crap.

Cool-sounding. But "Come Dancing" actually dates from about 1983. Still,
you've sketched a very interesting picture, there! I'd pay for something
like that.

My suggestions, for whatever they're worth (following a semi-mental journey
through my brother's old records):

"D'yer Maker" - Led Zeppelin
"100,000 Years" - KISS
"Shattered" - Rolling Stones
"Pretty Vacant" - Sex Pistols
"Europa" - Blondie (album track from AUTOAMERICAN)
"Candy-O" - The Cars (good example of proto-EBM already, if you ask me)
"Born to be Alive" - Patrick Hernandez (is that the right name? and this
is another one that may actually be an '80s tune...)
And maybe "Saturday Night's All Right for Fighting" - Elton John

This project sounds exciting. Keep us posted, won't you? -- KT

How about the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack?

Since Laibach didn't do it as the logical follow-up to _Let It Be_...

"Gold Dust Woman" - Fleetwood Mac (Wouldn't Naked City do a
spooky version of this?)
"A Horse With No Name" - America
"Brandy" - dunno the group, but I always thought this
dumb-ass song could be given a pretty interesting
malevolent edge by the right band.

I know I will get flames galore if I'm wrong on the year here, but
I think "My Sharona" would kick ass done industrial. Even if I am off on
the year it was released(i have no idea), I would love a copy of it done
with a wicked thrash sound(close enough).

How about "Time to Change" by the Brady Bunch?

Brandy was done by Looking Glass!

IMHO, "Benny and the Jets" by Elton John is just *dying* for an
industrial cover... :-)
