I met Danny Glover at Price Club (now Costco) in '94 or '95. He came in
late one day to buy a piece of furniture for someone (probably family
member). He was dressed casually and was very polite. I helped him load
his order (I've been an employee since '88).
I've met a lot of other celebs there too (from politicians and athletes
to tv stars and televangelists), but Danny Glover was the most friendly
and courteous person you could meet.

Kind of an ecclectic assortment, but I've met Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley from
KISS; the members of the pop/metal band Enuff Z'Nuff; Barry McGuire (singer of
the 1965 hit "Eve Of Destruction"); actors Chad Everett, Eric Close and Victor
Spinetti; actresses Jennifer Love Hewitt and Shawn Huff; and the pro wrestler
"Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

Funny SC story!

I met Jim Neighbors here on the island last summer playing golf. A
real nice guy. He is making quite a pretty penny on his gospel and
revival albums, and dumb-dumb me didn't know that he sang. How 'bout
that!

Anyway - I asked him "Could you please. . ." and as soon as I said it
he said "Do the Gomer voice?" and all I could do is clap my hands in
desperation let my eyes get bigger in excitement. I guess he knew how
excited I was and let out a "GOOOOOWWWWWLLLLLLYYYY, SARG!!!"

OH MY GOODNESS, I LOVED IT!!! It was really nice of him to be such a
good sport!

The first "celebrity" or famous person I ever met was Robert Kennedy
back in 1966!!

I was 6 at the time. He was in a parade walking down the street shaking
hands. Crowds were gathering around him and I kind of got pushed up to
the front. Suddenly, I looked up and there I was right in front of
RFK!!! I turned around to go tell my parents when I felt a hand on my
shoulder. The hand turned me around and it was Robert Kennedy looking
down at me smiling and reaching to shake my hand!

I will never forget that picture in my mind of him looking down smiling
at me. :)

Well, before I put my list, a bit of background. In 1987 I moved to
NYC, my first job there was at the Hard Rock Cafe. I worked there from
August 87 to February 89. In October of 88, I started working part time
at a pretty well known night club on the Upper West Side (The China
Club) eventually to become full time until I moved in 91. I was very
fortunate to have met many people(even hung out with a couple). It was
3 and 1/2 of the most exciting years of my life.
Most of the people on my list are from those years. This is the ones
that I remember (I'm sure I'll forget someone!!).
Humbly submitted are:

Simon Le Bon
Nick Rhodes
John Taylor
Steve Ferrone (he was a regular at the club)
Davy (sp?) Jones (first person I met at Hard Rock, got an autograph)
Faye Dunaway (Got to talk to her, after meeting felt like I had been
blessed by the Pope! Very gracious lady.)
Jeff Bridges
Joey Ramone (A funny experience)
Roy Orbison (This one is kind of bitter-sweet. The Hard Rock was having
a party in his honor, not too long after that , died. The party had
been one of his last public appearances.)
Regis Philbin (At the Roy Orbison party. I had NO IDEA who this guy
was! LOL! He kept acting like I should know him, but I guess I was just
too much of a youngin'!)
Cindy Adams (Same Party. Her, I recognized from the newspapers... At
least I didn't make a fool out of myself with her!)
Billy Joel (Same Party. He autographed my time card!)
Weird Al (Same party...couldn't pick up a girl to save his life!)
Cynthia Lennon
Julian Lennon(regular at night club. A very nice guy.)
Eddie Van Halen (A total waste case at the time)
Anthony Michael Hall (He was hanging with Eddie, also wasted. But a
nice guy.)
David Lee Roth(This guy was hysterical!! He was also, surprisingly
cordial. He was at Hard Rock doing a live interview with Scott Muni
from WNEW.)
Chuck Berry (He showed up at the Hard Rock before we opened and asked
me<!!> if it was okay to look around before we opened. Of course it
was okay!! I even made him a cup of coffee. Definitely a high point in
my life as far as music legends go.)
John Entwistle(Met outside of Parker Meridian Hotel for 2 days straight)
Pete Townshend (OMG, this is the only time in my life that I was
speechless!! Also met him outside of the Parker Meridian hotel. Manage
to snap a couple pics and an autograph before he and John Entwistle had
to leave for the airport.)
Sylvester Stallone (borrowed my pen to get a girls phone number. LOL!)
Rod Stewart (a regular at night club)
Noel Redding from Jimi Hendrix Experience( Well, this was really cool.
they had "Jam Night" at the club and he came to jam. Manage to have a
small chat with him in the office..well...also got stoned with him!
LOL! I know, bad girl...but hey, how often does *that* opportunity come
up!)
Paul Stanley (As a KISS fan--this was cool!)
Ace Frehley (Again, very cool for this KISS fan! I remember my
boyfriend at the time, who was also a big fan, asked for his autograph.
Well, he was pretty wasted, so he starts signing all over his denim
jacket, his shoes, the wall in the bathroom! LOL! What a card!)
Lawrence Taylor( A very scary looking guy, but very nice and a good
tipper)
Darryl Strawberry (UGH! What_a_jerk! 'Nuff said.)
Mike Tyson (see Darryl Strawberry)
Shaquille O'Neal (This was funny...I was living in Orlando at the time.
He had already been picked up by the Lakers at this point but still had
a house in O-town. I was coming out of Walgreens late one night and,
literally, ran into him! Talk about running into a brick wall! LOL!
He was real nice about it though and laughed when I asked *him* if he
was okay! Like little ol' me could hurt Shaq!
Christopher Walken (Brief chat, very nice man. Almost elegant in
demeanor.
Jon Lovitz
Sebastian Bach (from Skid Row)
"Macho Man" Randy Savage (YEEEAAA)
Jake the Snake
Judd Nelson (He was best friends with a friend of mine. We hung out one
night and played pinball until 4 am.)
John Stamos (My friend Kim and I got to hang out and drink with him and
the only thing we could think of was "oh man, we're sitting with Blackie
from General Hospital!" This was before Full House came out.)
Mickey Dolenz
Mick Fleetwood
Sinead O'Connor
Modern English (My boyfriend at the time was the light tech for them in
'90)
Rick Derringer (he was a friend of the sound man at the club I worked
at)
Dave Gahan and Andrew Fletcher from Depeche Mode(My friend Elizabeth and
I went to their concert at Giant Stadium and then went back to the club
I worked at. Well, about 15 minutes later they showed up! My friend
was a HUGE fan and was on cloud 9! We got to dance with Fletcher! Great
night!)

<whew>I'm certain I've forgotten a few, but I think that's more than
enough! Sorry it's such a long list. All of these happened when I was
18-21 *(except Shaq, that was 2 years ago). Man, I had a blast in
NYC...sure do miss it.
Gawd...this is almost depressing. LOL! Nothing like what I've listed
has really happened to me since I left NY 9 years ago! Oh, well...back
to my regularly scheduled "normal life"! ;-)

Let's see...I've "met" DERMOT MULRONEY, that guy in "My Best Friend's

Buddy, what was your encounter on St. Marks with Joey Ramone like? I ran
into him on the corner of 8th St. and 6th Ave. He and a female friend
were tearing a poster for an upcoming Ramones show off of a wall. I
wound up getting his autograph, and tried to make small talk with him,
but he was not very talkative.

Anyway, you've met some interesting people here.

We were closing up the store late one December evening and the local comedy
club owner called us and said that he hd some "talent" who wanted to shop. He
asked to keep the store open past the midnight closing time so the "talent"
could shop. We agreed, and about 12:15 Paula Poundstone shows up with about 3
other people. She shopped for about an hour and a half purchasing about 1500
dollars worth of toys. She was very nice to us, she even apologized profusely
when she didn't have change for the soda machine and she had to borrow it from
me. What she did after that was incredible. After we rang her up called in
her credit card and bagged her stuff she said to us. Donate all of this to
your local toy drive. make sure some kids get this stuff, but do me a favor do
not tell the press. She then posed for pictures and signed autographs and
thanked us for helping her. This was the single most generous act I have ever
seen. Plus, if she purchased a coloring book she got crayons to go with it, if
she got a remote control car, she got batteries too. An incredible woman.

When I was 4, in 1967, we spent a day at the General's farm in Gettysburg. My
father was one of his bodyguards during WWII so we spent the day just hanging
out as he and Dad swapped old war stories. He gave us a tour of his farm, gave
us an apple, and explained to me how an electric eye worked. Mamie was sick
that day so we did not get to meet her. The general and Dad stayed in touch
from WWII until the general died in 1969. We have volumes of correspondence
between the two at my parents house. Some of it on White House stationary. I
have in my possession somewhere a letter from the General congratulating Dad on
my birth.

Being in the entertainment industry I've had the opportunity to meet and work
with a number of celebs over the years.

In no particular order...

I worked with Shelley Long and Steven Wright several years ago when I was doing
a show for Comic Relief with Second City. Shelley Long and I had done summer
stock theater at the same place in northwestern Illinois, so we were comparing
notes on that experience. Steven Wright... wow, where do I start? What an
interesting character. He was actually very down to earth. Since I was there
as the pianist for the show, we talked a great deal about music and
composition. He was telling me about the music he writes on his guitar. He
gave me his phone number before we left, and I really wish I had called it just
so I could hear what on earth Steven Wright would have on his answering
machine!

Met Peter Yarrow one summer when I was working at Ravinia Festival just north
of Chicago and PP&M were performing. Very friendly from what I remember. He
also mentioned that he had close friends with the same name as my family and he
wondered if we were related.

Also at Ravinia, since it's the summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra,
I met plenty of classical musicians and opera singers in my 5 years there, but
my sister had the best stories from there, including some very interesting
encounters with Luciano Pavarotti and Kathleen Battle, to name a few.

Something kind of fun from my Second City years... of the 6 people in my
company when I first started playing there, 3 of them are currently on TV!
(One on SNL, 2 on Upright Citizens Brigade) So that's been fun to see how
people move on.

Also met Bonnie Hunt and Don Lake doing a radio show a few years ago. What
cool people. She's also a Second City alum (he might be, too, but I'm not
sure) and he played the city manager (?) in Waiting for Guffman, if you're
trying to place him -- tall bald guy.

I also used to work for John Hughes, so besides him, there were a bunch of
people I met through that job... I remember answering the phone once with Steve
Martin on the other end. Also ordering presents for John Candy's kids. Other
than that, I know there are others that I'm blanking on, plus various jazz
musicians that probably wouldn't mean too much to most of you out there. So
I'll wrap this up for now, but promise to add more if I remember them!

In the 70's thru the 80's, OSMOND was the word. I've had the chance to
meet them all-my fave pic is one of Donny, Debbie, and me about a week
after their wedding. It was in Las Vegas at the Hilton golf course. We
were all--well, younger, and didn't have to lie about it! There's been
Michael Damien from Young & Restless, Kc of the Sunshine Band, there's
been others-yet I'll always remember John Madden being such a gentle
giant, and shaking my hand. I told him I couldn't STAND the Raiders
when he coached them, since I was a Chief fan! We chuckled and said my
dad taught his daughter wll about football! And then there was Jeff
Conaway (or Conway) from Grease and Taxi fame)--he was cute then!

& Aggie Ray Childress. This man is HUUUGE!!!!! He goes up there for awhile.
Hell he had to reach down to shake my hand. Not too much tho as I go 6'3".
In May of '97 me & a buddy went to the see ZZ Top. While there we ran into
another buddy of ours named Joel & his girlfriend. Well Joel has ALWAYS had
a problem with his mouth & not knowing how to keep it shut. So me & Rob,
were sitting there jamming & drinking when Joel's girl come's up & say's he
just cussed out a cop about smokin' in the boy's room & got arrested for it.
Next thing I'm runnin' around with her trying to find out about bail for
him. The concert ends. I give Rob the key's to my truck & he leaves. Then
she tells me about the meet-n-greet passes she has. Well now. We went
backstage & got to meet Dusty Hill & Frank Beard. Both real nice but real
short. Later on we had breakfast then bailed him out bout 5am. It was good
for me. Hell I had his truck, his wallet, his backstage pass, & his woman. I
met Mickey Gilley once long before Urban Cowboy. At Gilley's sometime after
the movie died down I met the then members of Paul Revere & The Raiders. No
Mark tho. Have met Houston Rocket Matt Bullard at several AC/DC concerts.
The same for former Astro reliever Charley Kerfeld. That's bout it for me.

The most famous perosn I have met was Sean Penn.

He came walking out of a local hotel during the Toronto film festival. He
was not hard to spot. He looked like he had been up all night. Nice guy
though. Shook his hand and told him I enjoyed his work. He said "Thanks" and
then asked me if I had a cigarette.

Me and a few friends almost met Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. They were
coming out of a movieheatre. She was up here filming "To Die For' and he was
taking a break from "Interview With A Vampire. They were standing at the
lights waiting to cross so though we would say Hi. Before we could a lady
who was with them said that ...."They would love to stop and chat but they
have had a long day. They hope you will understand" And that was that.

I stood in line behind Prince at a Store called Shoppers Drug Mart way back
in 1988. It was around 1 am in the morning. He was all dressed in yellow and
was very nice and polite. He had a bodyguard with him though.

Sat at a table next to the Bangles at the Hard Rock cafe in New York.

Other people I have met ...

Maria Mckee (a couple times. Very nice)
Neil Young
Dwight Yoakam
Drew Barrymore

Walked By.....

Alec Baldwin
William Hurt
Ralph Fiennes
Harvey Kietel
Quentin Tarantino

Hey, funny you should ask! Well I didn't really "meet" her, but Sharon Stone
was on the flight I was just on from Okland to LA. There was a little baby
crying and I said to my husband "guess he doesnt like to fly" and then
continued to watch these two women fussing over him. Then I thought "hey, that
looks like it could be Sharon Stone" and guess what? It was! My husband said he
would never have know that was her if I hadn't pointed her out. She had no
make-up on and looked a little ragged which made me feel better since she had
two women there helping her out with the baby. How many of us had that kind of
help, huh? Anyway, nobody bothered her...she looked like she had her hands
full!

ummm...ok...I went and *saw* some very famous hockey players (Bobby Orr) but
alas, I didn't get to *meet* any of them. Have I lost your respect now Nate?
*sniff*
But I had a great time and got to see Bobby Orr (if I haven't already mentioned
him...tee hee) Derek Sanderson <who were both behind the bench because they
can't skate anymore :( > Phil Esposito, Ken Hodge, Johnny Bucyk and a host of
70s Bruins. On the Celebrity side there was Cam Neely, Michael J Fox (who only
skated one period due to his illness..what a great guy he is!) Kiefer
Sutherland, Scott Wolf, Dennis Leary, Lenny Clark (who had never skated before,
lol!), Chad Lowe, Ron Duguay, Bobby Farrelly, Rick Moranis, Tim Robbins, and
George Wendt ,who was on the bench with Elizabeth Hurley.

Of course it was all for fun, but I was STILL rooting for my Bruins...till they
traded Phil Esposito and Ken Hodge in the final period, to the other team!
ARRRRGHHH!! That brought back too many bad memories!

I just remembered another one. One night back in '81 (hey only 730 days OT
:-) a buddy came over at like 3am & said "get your ass outta bed & let's go
get a steak." So we went to a JoJo's nearby. Not a whole lot of folks there.
Just us & a bus in the parking lot. So we eat us a big ol' t-bone
w/trimmin's & go to pay. Now we are both a coupla big fellas. Well when we
got to the register there was this real pretty girl in front of us paying. I
somehow managed to trip over my own boots & practically invented break
dancing to avoid falling all over her. My hat came off & fell behind the
counter. Had hell dustin' it off. Well I got my balance, & my cool, back.
turned around & saw this mountain of a man. It was either her husband or a
bodyguard. I apologized to her. Did I happen to mention that she was fine??
We got out in the truck to leave & got to noticin' the bus. It turned out
that the bus was, as well as the girl I tripped over, Louise Mandrell's of
the Mandrell Sisters. She had given a concert earlier that night at
Astroworld. So we drove around the bus whistling at it & such then left. Man
she is fine.

When I lived in LA years ago, I used to see and meet all kinds of
celebrities. Almost too many to mention. However, one of my favorite
encounters was with Kirstie Alley and Kelsey Grammar on the set of
"Cheers". I used to go to tapings of that show all the time. One night
as the show ended, I was just standing there in the bleachers looking at
the bar set and Kelsey Grammar walked up to me and shook my hand!!! I
was very impressed by what a nice personable guy he was. He thanked me
for coming to the show. Then I turned to leave--and there was Kirstie
Alley just standing there smiling at me!! I said "Hi" and she asked me
if I thought the show had been any good that night? I , of course, went
on to tell her how wonderful it was. She gave me an autograph and told
me what a fun time the cast all has working together. She was super
nice and really cute too!!

Last year I had a part-time job driving a bus at the airport here in
Minneapolis. In the course of just a few months I got to meet Fred
Grandy, Peter, Paul, & Mary, Mike Wallace from 60 Minutes and Chrissie
Hynde. <----man, is she scarey close up. LOL!

Funny thing about our parents, or mine anyway (your experience may vary)...

Coming into the 1970s, my parents (who grew up in rural Alabama) acted as if
the '60s never happened and they had just left the '50s with all values, etc.
perfectly intact. By the time the 70s ended, my dad was the one who had
adapted the easiest...my mom acts bewildered at anything that differs from her
1950s "Good guys wear white hats" ideals and is terrified of modern
technology...

Oh, she liked the 80s all right...the part about Ronald Reagan coming into
office, not the part about MTV, etc. Then Iran-Contra happened and just like
Watergate she didn't want to talk about it anymore...

You are soooooooooo correct about that. I have soooooo many pictures
of her grandaughter.

But nooooooooo I have to go to the longest line in America - The Lady's
Isle Post Office and get a special envelope, buy stamps and make sure
it's stamped do not bend.

I also have to figure out what the heck time it is in Mission Beach
versus Hilton Head to call her via the phone.

Ode to email and Instant Messenger. Even the super old fart retirees
in my neighborhood use email and IM - if not all for pics of thier
grandaughters or shall I say great grandaughters but for Bridge club
meetings.

BTW - Funny SC story about the internet and old farts!

There is this 75 year old lady that walks her poodle on the beach and
when I'm out walking my dog we always seem to cross paths. Anyway - we
got to talking one day about file sharing and I told her about how much
I resent the RIAA and thier campaign to abolish MP3s. She told me
about a site that allows people to trade CROSSTITCH patterns like MP3s
and that once legislation is passed against this sort of thing, the
companies that you have to buy these patterns from will join the
lawsuit bandwagon.

I thought "That's great - I don't have anything in common w/ her

Billy Joel was a one time meeting (still got the autograph, though!).
Rod Stewart was a regular. Whenever he was in NY he would stop in,
sometimes for a few minutes or half the night! He was good friends with
the owners (they were invited to his wedding). Considering his
celebrity status, he was the most "regular guy" in attitude. Just a
really nice guy! Personally, I never thought he was good looking, but
his personality definitely was a "win over"!

Ya'll probably don't know them but that is all I have to go on as far as
hockey is concerned. Seeing how the powers that be in the nhl have deemed
Houston not fit for pro hockey. So instead we get the semi-pro leagues in
here & they wonderful. In the 70's it was the WHA & with the Howe family we
won back-to-back Avco cups. Then here in the 90's the IHL came a-calling &
we have a new team called, again, the Aero's who won the Turner Cup 2 years
ago. They have the best attendance of all the teams in the league av. about
11,000 per game. Yet the nhl STILL says uh-uh, no way, you can forget about
a team there. But we may get one yet as the owner of the Rockets is
constantly trying to buy a team & move them here. So far no luck yet. He
came REAL close to buying the Edmonton Oilers a few years ago. That would
have been weird having lost the NFL Oilers & all.

I forgot to mention that I was passed on the street by John Gotti and Sammy
"The Bull" Gravano. I also met Peter Yarrow at a concert.

YEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!

SUBWAY SERIES!!!!!!!

Can't wait! That'll be much fun. Hey! I'm near Atlanta, why don't I go
kidnap Rocker and throw him in on the subway. Then you guys would
really have some fun.

That's almost as good as the Dodgers coming back to Brooklyn, well
almost I guess.

Can you believe that someone from Southern Ca. would say that?

Good, cause I'm a Padre fan. Too bad they stink!

I am a Yankee fan but have found myself rooting for the Mets the last couple of
months. (The year of the underdog, perhaps?) I am keeping my fingers crossed
for a subway series... My husband will continue to root for the Yankees and
I'll be cheering for the Mets... It will be an interesting week at my house!!!

Let us not speak in jest of the Dodgers coming HOME to Brooklyn. Some things
carry with them a religious sort of reverence. And here in Brooklyn many of
us still think that, even if it doesn't happen, it might, and it should. In
the room where my computer is I have a Brooklyn Dodgers Pennant, A framed
poster from Brooklyn Borough Hall Commemorating Jackie Robinson Day (the
50th Anniversary of # 42 breaking down the professional barrier), A news
clipping of the day that Pee Wee Reese died, a clipping of the city's intent
to build a statue to honor the moment in the game where Pee Wee went onto
the field and put his arm around Jackie at a time when he was getting a lot
of racist flack, several Dodger (as in Brooklyn Dodger) pictures and a
signed by the artist, numbered (of a limited series) lithograph called A
Field In Flatbush (showing the artists rendition of Ebbets Field) with a
slice of brick from Ebbets Field cemented onto the glass. Everytime I walk
down the hall and pass this: I rub the brick. Also it you see me wearing a
baseball hat it will invariably Dodger Blue with an old english "B" on the
front, and a white button on top. Some things are sacred.

Sorry! that wasn't meant to jest the ORIGINAL Dodgers. It just seems
as though no one in LA really cares about the home team and I'd rather
the Legacy live on to where it started, especially with so much talk
about selling the team. It's just a shame in LA.

History forbids me from rooting for the Mets even tho they were one of the
teams involved in 'The Greatest Game Ever Played'. I am not hoping for a
subway series so right now I am root root rooting for the M's. Altho I doubt
they will win it. If it does come to a subway series then I will go for the
yankees. Either way both teams have WAY too many ex-Astros. Go M's!!

Billy, you always get me laughing! An equal oppurtunity offender.

However, I'd have to believe that Spike should be sent to our neck of
the woods. Ole Spike'd have a pretty rough time, huh? Out of his own

Nate, Tell ya what. I'll buy them back. This is a one time offer: $3.51. I'm
only being this generous because I was born in 3/51, so that's how I arrived
at that figure. Really a couple of years ago we heard they were going on the
block. A lot of residents, companies, and politicians got behind an effort
to get them (BACK) here. For some it was publicity, but for other "little
guys" like me it was a fond wish come true. Instead, out at Coney Island-in
the place where Steeplechase used to stand, they are building a 6,000 seat
"Stadium" for a minor league, AA team from the Mets organization. Yeah,
that's it, throw us a crumb. Part of the excuse given by the Mayor,
Governor, and MLB is that they'd have to get the approval of both resident
teams because without their approval according to the bylaws no major league
team can come in. I thought it was the AMERICAN national pastime, that it
belonged to us the fans. Guess I was wrong it really is big business. (It
now has three divisions and a LCS. It used to be a Pennant Race, now all
they do is keep repeating LCS. Hell, I thought LCS was a STD. And the
announcers dont shut up once during the game thereby taking all the drama
out of it. It is the footballization of baseball. It's a damn shame.)

Spike's a Brooklyn Boy born and raised. His offices for 40 Acres & A Mule is
right across the street from the hospital that I work in. We used to see him
from time to time. Amongst the people I know he is not thought too highly
of, even though he used to throw an annual block party with entertainment &
everything. People who had gone into his store (while it still existed) who
expected a fair deal for a "brother" from a "brother" found something else
entirely. They tell me his clothes were WAY too expensive and said things
like "Since he gets to hang out with those Park Ave Motherf-----s, he
charges us like WE got that kind of money." So it was not a profitable
venture and he had to close it down. He also moved out of his house in Fort
Greene, Brooklyn to get an uptown Luxury Apartment (and by uptown I dont
mean Harlem). And with all his superblack posing, have you seen his wife.
She almost looks white. Probably of mixed race (and probably wont admit it).
He has styled himself to be one of those industry guys. Nothing differnet
about him, or his house in Martha's Vineyard. He aspires to be the first
white superblack man. He doesn't have a lot of ghetto credibility whether or
not people like his films. And lately no one has been liking them. he's
viewed as a (rich) curiosity amongst my ghetto friends. IMHO

Billy, I also liked Crooklyn (correct spelling-it was a ghetto kid thing to
call it crooklyn-because there were so many street level thieves at work). I
think it might be his very best work because it just showed a family. A

Dixie Carter grew up about 10 miles from here and graduated from my old
high school. She still owns a house (make that three houses) here. We
see her and Hal Holbrook everytime they decide to get away from the big
city.

She's not sassy and arrogant, like she was on Designing Women. In fact,
her Southern Bell accent disappears and becomes just plain old Southern
after a day or two back home!

Hal sometimes stops in at the local convience store and gets a six pack
of Heiniken and ????. I forget the other imported beer he grabs. Seems
they both like the green bottled stuff, though. <g>

LOL!!! 'The Greatest Game Ever Played' was of course Game 6 in the Dome (yep
in Texas!! LOL!!) in the 1986 LCS. 16 innings of PURE adrenaline pumping
drama. It featured leads gained & lost, dramatic towering homeruns, & really
no chance to relax if you had the lead. The Mets won it & were DAMN glad to
have. It meant they would not have to face the Cy Young award winner Mike
Scott in a game 7. Once they beat us they were destined to win the Series
then as they played Boston. Shoot anyone who follows the game knows that the
Sox will NEVER win the Series due to the atrocity they committed back in
'18. That plus the famous "between the legs" fielding. And somewhere in
Anonymous-Ville Iowa Bill Buckner has just booted up his computer & ran
across this newsgroup & thought to himself " Hey I wonder what they talk
about in here."

Sandy, love, sweetheart,...let me explain something to you. WHO CARES ABOUT
HOCKEY? We're on the verge of a (possible) Subway Series. I know that you
dont know what that's like but picture a city of 8,000,000 people plus a
million or two uncounted illegals all at each others throats. I tell ya it
brings tears to the eye..sniff......it's a beautiful thing. And here in
N.Y.C. if we want to beat somebody up with a stick....we use a Louisville
Slugger. That's a Baseball Bat sweet lady. I honestly dont like hockey. Or
football. Or any other sports, really.
