I'm okay, everyone, although I was in the city today. Amazingly, I just got
into the city at the moment of the bombing, and was absolutely stunned. I
often take the subway into the WTC stop. I'm glad I didn't today. I'm lucky,
but I have tears for those who were not. Seeing the buildings collapse is
something I will never forget. I don't think I'm going to able to sleep tonight.
I was stranded in the city for hours and finally was able to get back home
by ferry. Lower Manhattan looks like a war zone; smoke everywhere. I'm starting
to choke up just thinking about it. I have a buddy who works at the WTC.
Thank god, he's fine. Ihaven't spoken to himm yet, but I talked to his mom
and she had; he said that there were dead bodies all over the place. I'm
fine, but I am praying for the victims of this madness and for the USA

Not that it isn't always good to see you, today it is that much more.

And so the word went out from <antipos...@127.0.0.1>:

{{{ major body-crushing hugs! }}} Wonderful to see you, Tom, I'm so glad
I'm still hooked up to see your message, we were getting worried about you.
I'm running out of words but I echo your thoughts, my prayers go out to the
whole nation. The enormity of this will take a while to really set in, people
are still too numb right now.

Oh, man, more tears as I watch the politicians gathered on the front steps
of the White House singing "God Bless America". I can't stop crying today.

Tom, THANK GOD you are safe! I have been on and offline all day worrying
about our NY friends and not seeing or hearing about or from you, I was
terribly worried. Thanks for getting here finally, and easing our minds.

Here here, rach. Even though I don't see eye to eye with you, Tom (and Buddy)
I'm just so happy to just hear from you.
And I want to apologize for my post earlier. I just was upset with my own
feelings, because I want those motherfuckers to get what they deserve, but I
also want people to think rationally. *sigh*

Tom, I am very glad to hear from you. I have a list of people I have been
trying to account for in both NY and DC and you were on that list.

I'm betting Buddy is up to his armpits in work right now. He will likely have
some hellacious stories to tell when he's done.

So glad you're okay Tom. You had me worried. I can't imagine how you felt
being there. I was stunned and in tears just listening to the radio.

What a nightmare this has been, Nanc. I was only about two miles from the
Towers, up on the 18th floor of an building on 25th street, and watching
the Towers on fire, and then collapsing, first from there and then from the
street, was an unreal experience, one I'll never forget. I wound up for a
while in Times Square standing across from ABC TV studios, to try to get
information. It was comforting to be around other people, and yet there was
a solemn mood; when they showed the planes hitting the towers, you'd hear
people in the crowd gasping and muttering "oh my God" and other such responses.
When I got home last night, I could only see smoke wheras I'd normally see
the tops of the towers from the corner where I live. It was a reminder of
what had happened. I then went in and made and recieved phone calls, and
watched news coverage, which was riveting.

Today, my mood, as I'm sure for most of us, is a combination of deep sadness,
anger toward those responsible, and a grieving feeling of loss, both for
the loss of innocent life as well as a sense of innocence that I think is
gone. On the other hand, I suppose this could have been even worse. The person,
or persons, responsible for this crime are not human; they're animals. We
need to capture them and bring them to justice.

One thing I wanted to do yesterday was donate some blood. I went to one of
the hospitals to try to do this, but there was a big group of people trying
to do the same, and the hospital was not set up to deal with everyone. But,
I'll be giving blood at some polint in the near future. I urge everyone to
do the same.

Peace to everyone,

Tom

I will be donating blood Tom. I found people in the same mood today. Just
quiet and sad. Still so unbelievable.......

Thank you for checking in with us Tom. You were all on our minds.
I can't even comprehend what it must have been like to witness that mass
destruction.
It looked like one of those disaster movies watching that big cloud of dust and
debris coming down that street towards the people. It must have been horrifing
seeing it for real.
It's not something your soon going to forget.
I keep trying to pick out where we were walking when they show shots of NYC.
It was such a happier time when we were there in June. It's hard to comprehend
that it looks like a war zone now....
