I wore these in the 70s and now I really wear them in the 90s!
Now that I pays the bill I can have more than one pair for the
entire decade. I got:

- Blue
- Black
- Orange
- Green
- Eggplant (looks Maroon)

Its the real thing! Real rubber, real suede, etc., and at
a Converse Outlet store - well I wanted to say a 1970s price
but its not. Its $29.95 now. When they first came out they
were $49.95.

Of course, that is $29.95 in 1990s dollars and the One-Stars
were before Jimmy Carter's term in office (hey the inflation
occurred under him and Nixon). So, what would todays'
$29.95 be in 1970s dollars (about $10?)?

Now, you know, Chucks (that's what I call them, Chuck Taylor signature
high-tops) have been around since some time in the twenties. I think that
to say they are a product of the 70s is to sell them woefully short. Or are
you talking about some other kind of shoe? btw, apart from these nifty Nike
sandals, Chucks are the only kind of street shoe I ever wear, or have worn
since, oh, 1987.

Adam:

One-Star and not All-Stars (Chucks - Chuck Taylor signature low *and*
high-tops). There is a relationship but they One-Star is a product of
the 70s.

It even says this on the shoe box.

As I say there is a relationship. It is a spin-off, a father/son
relationship, etc.
