I will shortly *again* be upgrading my board and processor. My first desire
is to get the KT7 but wait : I read that Abit is releasing the KG7 in
December which is only 2 months now (about) with the AMD chipset and enabled
for DDR? and the KG7 RAID.

This always happens doesn't it? KA7 to KT7 now is KG7 worth the wait if
what I read is correct?

(Rule of computer hardware: no matter what you buy, a couple months later
you wish you had something else that popped up)

Looking at the preview at www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1319 of the FIC
AD-11, if you're prepared to fork out for new memory the answer has got to
be yes!

I didn't even need the power of my ASUS k7m-Athlon 500(750). I upgraded to
T-Bird 900(1030)-ABIT k7t(non-raid) for stability purposes.

How expensive will DDR SDRAM be initially? I bet real big $$. Can the KG7
support regular SDRAM too?

Maybe you should wait till spring 2001 when AMD Multiprocessing systems will
be available.

Why not wait 2 more years and there will be probably be something even
better.

Pretty stupid thing to say. 2 months is a lot shorter that 2 years, come
one--what did you buy a KT?

2 months could easily be a short time to wait for somebody in the market
considering the significant chipset upgrades and RAM enablements--

I just built a couple months ago a KA7 850 o'clocked to just under a G for a
relative---I certainly wouldn't buy a KA7 now (though it is a great
board)---2 months can change a lot--- bringing up '2 years' is ridiculous. 2
months is waitable.

I think you should wait for 10 years or even more, you may have chance to
buy a 100Ghz cpu with MDRRAM motherboard...... Haha ~~~~

But will the KG7 support regular SDRAM initially??

If not, DDR SDRAM Is going to be prohibitively expensive, at least for me.
