We are first introduced to Hummingbird in 1995, on the 27th of April, with
the following post header:

From: "Chris Millbank," <se...@feliz.netkonect.co.uk>
Subject: MS-DOS vs 4DOS
Date: 1995/04/27

Selecting "View profile" brings up an information page showing a total of
1043 messages over an almost 2 year period from April 1995 to March 1997
emanating from that email account.

When we click on "Find messages by this author", we see that while retaining
the same email address, he changed his nym after his first post to
"¯beija-flor®" (Portugese for hummingbird) for the month of May. In June, it
became "<beija-flor>" and lasted unchanged until January 1996, when it
became either "«beija-flor» ô¿ô" or "<beija-flor> ô¿ô" before reverting to a
plain "<beija-flor>" in February. All of a sudden in July 1996, he went on a
spurt of nym shifting often using minor variations from day to day,
including "-beija-flor-", ".beija-flor.", "...beija-flor...", and ending the
month (Jul 18, 1996) on ".....beija-flor". During July there was also a
notable post on the 13th, where he was asking for an explanation about
X-No-Archive:YES in alt.usenet.offline-reader.forte-agent, with a signature
saying "Agent from Forté: the best $29 I've ever spent ". Returning about
the 15th of August as "...beija-flor...." in a self-confessed troll post,
his nym later reverted to the more normal form of "...beija-flor...". This
remained unchanged through September, although an oddball post with the nym
of "Martin Temple" appeared in uk.legal on September 11 asking about selling
a Leasehold property without notifying the owner. After a few months
undercover, he re-surfaced in mid-December nym unchanged, primarily hanging
out in soc.culture.brazil, then returning to a wider selection of groups
before making his last post with the email address of
se...@feliz.netkonect.co.uk on the 3rd of March 1997.

Since that time, whilst retaining hummingbird as a nym his regular changes
of differing listed email addresses, including randomised temporary ones
like those offered by spammotel.com (example: YPREUABXQ...@spammotel.com) in
combination with use of the X-No-Archive:YES flag has made it more difficult
to track his exact movements other than in quoted replies. The following are
some of the more prominent ones and show an extremely prolific posting
regime;

November 2000 [-June 2004] hummingbird (beija...@clara.co.uk) 40 messages
August-September 2001 hummingbird (hummi...@beija-flor.com) 1244 messages
September 2001 hummingbird (hummi...@beija-flor.no.spam.com) 506 messages
April 2003 hummingbird (beija...@NO.SPAM.clara.co.uk) unknown
May 2005 - July 2005 hummingbird (VXWXCU...@spammotel.com) 2830 messages
July 2005 - November 2005 hummingbird (XSJCLS...@spammotel.com 5335
messages
November 2005 - March 2006 hummingbird (ZYLYDW...@spammotel.com) 5022
messages
March 2006 - June 2006 hummingbird (OPRBMD...@spammotel.com) 3929
messages
June 2006 - March2007 hummingbird (RHBIYD...@spammotel.com) 11255
messages

The hummingbird we know today uses an email nym of hummi...@2die4.com,
having amassed a total of 2454 recorded posts since appearing with his
latest incarnation on the 31st of March this year, and still remains a loyal
Forte Agent user.

[All quoted figures obviously exclude non-archived and sock-puppet posts]

Hummingbird, why have you now posted using a false name?

I did far less than and posted posted using a variation of my name but
always such that my identitiy was clear.

However, you shrieked and shouted, griped and bellyached, foamed and
frothed, spat and kicked, lied and decieved, feigned outrage and horror,
and gave us all the usual theatrics you like so much.

See your posting below and then relate it to your posting in this
thread.

Yes, it it was just more HUMMING-HYPOCRISY.

Outright hypocrisy is getting to be a habit. You were proven to be a
hypocrite before. See the posting at http://preview.tinyurl.com/37ftzu
(copied below). Maybe this is the way you like to conduct your
discussions but most people find it detracts from your limited
integrity.

The thing I don't understand is that you, Hummingbird, wrote that crap

Then you, Hummingbird, wrote this complaint about FOLLOW-UPs being used!

Rather strangely we can see you have set a Follow-Up to your current
posting to go to alt.spam. If you reckoned this was "dirty trick" and
"devious" and "disturbing" then why have you just done it yourself?

months.

Huss, you seem like a well-informed poster. Do you know if the
incidence of AIDS is greater among the prison population in the US or
amongst gay sex tourists to places like Thailand and Brasil?

I must say that as an ordinary reader of this newsgroup and not one who
engages in the sort of practises which Hummingbird seems to enjoy
pursuing, I did not immediately recognise that those phrases were the
titles of rather contentious threads which Hummingbird has taken part
in.

I got a bit flummoxed because sometimes Chris Millbank is Hummingbird,
sometimes he is beija-flor, and maybe sometimes he is Ivanalias(?) and
sometimes he is .... well, I just can't follow how many identities Chris
uses.

However I do get the feeling that a keen student such as myself is soon
to hear a few more of them.

Of course, I should add that the disgraceful foul-mouthed shouted
insults we have had here recently in alt.comp.freeware are largely
Hummingbird's own handiwork.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if other newsgroups (such as
uk.politics.misc and alt.politics.british) which have suffered this
avowedly destructive person have also had endless anonymous postings of
the foulest nature.

It might be beneficial to alt.comp.freeware to see if there are people
still around who still would like to know who their mystery foul-mouthed
detractor was back when Hummingbird Chris was posting to their group.

Ah, I just clicked. AIUI most US prisons have at least one very large,
over-sexed inmate named 'Bubba', who always takes a pair of scissors

This may go some way toward answering your question, but I suspect that
people who have experience of the US prison system will be able to
(cough) fill you in on the risks run by 'prison brides'. ;-)

Huss, thank you for your most informative reply. It helps me
understand some of our posters better and who could ever argue for
less understanding about such important matters.

So prison is not like this freeware I found.
http://preview.tinyurl.com/2jav35
Maybe I need to educate myself a bit about these things.
http://preview.tinyurl.com/2qtpos

The 'Bubba' character intrigues me as I am given to understand that
he is quite a common figure in the southern states and therefore one
of his type is very likely to be a long-term internee at the local
correctional facility.

I wonder what happens when a sex tourist takes the wrong turn at the
airport departure gate and ends up in Baton Rouge rather than Rio.
If he is intent upon satisfing his bodily needs then would Bubba be
able to help him out or would our Bubba be too busy dealing with his
own flock? I guess we will never know.

This amazing set of aliases used by Chris Millbank is quite
staggering. The sheer number of names is just awesome. Quite
literally awesome.

Of course, you have omit all the very many anonymous trolls he posts
in great numbers.

What on earth is the matter with the man? What is Chris trying to
hide that needs such elaborate and deceptive anonymity?

Is he on the run or something? Has a former gay partner been badly
scorned and Chris needs to hide from him? Has Chris swindled someone
important who now wants to even things up? The mind boggles at the
reason for such dishonesty in posting.

And his outpourings are vast. Does he have nothing to do between his
tourist travels to international fleshpots? Does he he just live to
post and to follow up his sexual proclivities and depravities?

Chris is such a conundrum that it is worrying and I feel we could all
benefit from further understanding of this person in our midst.

Do you have any useful snippet of information which may help us to
understand his character better in case we come across this strange
man in a different venue? Maybe a clip of some sort?

I just delete Franklin's posts...and his morphs as well as a few others. I
suppose that a form of killfiling.

Difficult not to peep? You sound like an old peeping Tom.

It would be dangerous having you near the neighborhood. A man of
your age should act better.

It looks like google is playing up again .
I can't find much of mine before 2002 but there are probably some going back
then.

I have had some strange Google Groups search results from time to
time recently. In some cases when I *remove* seach terms, Google
Groups gives me *fewer* hits even though the seacrh is now less
specific.

I see GG is quoting more lines of text for each hit. Even the XNA
hits which GG will not show full screen. By searching on words taken
from the text shown in the XNA posting you can nudge along and see
more of the posting.

ISTR that Google rolls out its service at different times to
different domain names (groups.google.se .ca. fr .jp etc) so not all
users may get this.
