The control box for the keypad entry system is located under the dash on
the passenger side. Little silver box about 4x4x3 inches (if memory
serves). There is upon that box a seven-digit code (there are some other
numbers and letters; ignore them. look for the 7 digits). This is your
master code. The master code does not open the doors; it is only used to
set your code.
Once you have that number, close the doors and enter the 7 digit code at
the keypad. A long beep will begin. You have 10 seconds or so to put
in your new code. Then wait. The car will beep twice (again, if memory
serves). The new code is in there.
Be forewarned, however, on selecting your new code: you cannot program
a code that require the keys to be pressed in sequence (like 1-3-5-7).
New codes can be 4-7 digits. The new code also cannot begin with two
presses of the same key (I think).
