hello

Call Google's AccountBudgetProposal interface to set the account limit to consume as much as possible. I would like to ask how long it will take effect after this interface is called? Is it possible to consume more than the upper limit? thank you

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to Google Ads API Forum.

Call Google's AccountBudgetProposal interface to set the account limit to consume as much as possible. I would like to ask how long it will take effect after this interface is called?

>> Kindly note that as per this guideAccountBudgetProposal objects are reviewed by Google prior to being applied. Reviews are typically completed in less than one hour, however you should ensure that budgets are approved well in advance of their requested start time.

Is it possible to consume more than the upper limit?

Can you confirm if you are referring to the spending limit? If yes, you may refer to this help article about spending limits. As per guide, for most campaigns, given your average daily budget, you'll never pay more than:

  • Your daily spending limit (2 times your average daily budget for most campaigns) on any particular day.
  • Your monthly spending limit (30.4 times your average daily budget for most campaigns) in any particular month.

If you have further questions related to spending limits, since this is already an inquiry related to Google Ads as a product, I recommend reaching out to the Google Ads product support team for further assistance on your inquiry. They can assist you more appropriately regarding these kinds of concerns and inquiries on Google Ads as a product.

Let me know if you have further questions related to Google Ads API.

Regarding the second question, my question is: After the account balance is reset to zero (after setting the account budget to be the same as the consumption), due to Google's processing delay, the consumption amount is greater than the upper limit of the account balance. Would this happen? Thank you

Hi Dongfu,

Thank you for getting back to us . I hope that you are doing well today.

I understand your concern, however, this concern is much related to the product. With this, the best team that can answer your question is the Google Ads Product support team. You may reach out to them via this link.

In addition, when you have a low budget, your ads may not serve as often while Google Ads ensures your campaign doesn't spend more than your spending limit. Your campaign status may also display “Eligible (Limited)” to indicate that it's either not serving or undeserving due to low budget.

Kind regards,

Thank you for your reply.
Due to a 1-hour delay in calling the balance setting interface on Google, if we reset the account balance and the user continues to consume within 1 hour, the user may experience a situation where their consumption exceeds the balance. May I ask if this situation occurs?
