Hey All!

Eric and Megan here. Kevin sent out an e-mail introducing us a little while ago, but I guess this is our formal entrance to the ACCC!

We're going to be helping out with the Women's cycling initiative this year, and wanted to get the ball rolling with a little info about how each team can start increasing the number of women rocking their uniforms!

We'll also be spamming your e-mails with info and encouragement to get out and there find all the ladies at your campus who want to come and suffer with us on two wheels. Its gonna be a great road season.

Any questions/concerns/or if you just wanna chat about how awesome women's cycling is, you can always reach us at this e-mail!

Remember, always rubber side down.

Megan, Eric, and everyone in the ACCC,

I’m not sure if I chimed in after Kevin’s initial introduction of Megan and Eric, but this is an INCREDIBLY exciting development for the conference. I am really excited for the work already begun on this topic, and what is to come. Every team should read through Megan and Eric’s document and think about how their recommendations can be implemented on your team. And send out suggestions, discussion topics and any ideas you might have, to the list and to Megan and Eric so that women’s membership in the ACCC can be at its full potential. For an idea of what is possible, I’ve attached a graph of female membership by percentages in other conferences as of the spring road season (I haven’t updated it since, but will once license sales close for 2011 on November 30). The national average is 20% female membership in collegiate cycling, and one conference even has achieved 30%! With some hard work and dedication to equality on the part of every team in the conference, this is achievable.

Thanks, everyone, and happy Thanksgiving!

Best,

Jeffrey Hansen
