I m now in thailand for my 6 months training.I would return India only after 15th June..will that be late...for Visa Appl/Bank formalities?
...Also I have not send my original school/college certis..but have recvd metriculation certi stating that I must send them soon...Will it be fine if I mail these docs just 15 days befroe my arrival to ETH?
Yep, thats true. No chances at the last hurdle. Do we have to do anything like immunization for going to Switzerland ?
I am thinking of booking a date in this month. Bank statement, passport photo, filled in application forms : thats all are required right ?
do i have to give them a statement of purpose as well ?
And to whom should the Cover letter be addressed ?
Moreover they ask for a proof of occupation. I am working in a company and will be resigning from my current job for going to studies. But I will not resign by the time of visa application. I am sure that my company will not give me a no-objection certificate confirming the leave and saying that I will come back to India after my studies ? What should I do in this regard ?

Dear Anurag,Everyone has to show only 1 year funding,as a student visa case, except they update funding criteria. But, if Delhi Embassy replied that you have to show funding for 2 years then, the best thing is you have to farward Delhi Embassy email to Mumbai Embassy regarding funding. So, it is not confusing in future aswell for others.Greets,Piyush

These things are mentioned on the website of embassy/consulate so check from there. At our times we were able to pay through draft and cash both.

One question from my side remains unanswered. Please answer to it as I am going to Delhi tomorrow and submitting the documents on the day after tomorrow. How do we pay the visa fees ? Do we pay them in cash or we have to carry a draft ? I heard somebody saying that visa fees for ETH/EPFL is half of the amount stated in the website. Does it mean we have to pay 30 Euros at the embassy ?Thanks in advance. On Sun, Jun 13, 2010 at 9:59 AM, Navadeep Boruah <navadee...@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks. I had sent a mail to Swiss Embassy. This is the reply that I got."Dear Sir/ Madam,Thank you for your inquiry. This is to inform you that you have to apply from VFS and once we receive the file we will let you know that the interview is require or not."Now I dont know what this means !!!"Kindly use the new Schengen visa application form. You can download the same on the following link:
http://www.eda.admin.ch/eda/en/home/reps/asia/vind/ref_visinf/visind.html
From December 15th, 2008 onwards, the Embassy of Switzerland is issuing Schengen visas (implementation of the Schengen Agreement).
Swiss visas will still be valid for Switzerland until the date of expiry, but they will not entitle to enter other Schengen states.
Travellers holding valid Schengen visas will be accepted to enter Switzerland. "Does it mean that we will not be able to travel to other countries from Switzerland if we apply for visa on the D type permit format ?I called VFS Delhi today.
They said wait for the reply from Embassy at Delhi, as Embassy will conduct the interview and we have to submit documents there itself.
@ Navadeep, this might help you too..

Submitted my documents today at VFS Delhi. Met Anurag there. They kept my passport telling me that it will be returned after 4-5 days after verification at the embassy.
How many days do they usually take before returning the passports ? Any personal experience ?
