I have encountered a really bothering problem... If I got my TW on my
computer it works fine when I save, also on tiddlyspot. But when I put
my TW on a local server and try to save I just get the message:

"Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?
There are unsaved changes in this TiddlyWiki..."

It's like the page just refreshes instead of saving, what to do? >.<

Yeah, I've read that but I put it on local server where I have all
writing/saving rights. I feel it shouldn't be any difference compared
to your own disk, or?

If you mean "web server", then its not going to save without an
intermediary script or application. If you're talking about a file
server over an intranet ... that's different ;-) If its the latter,
and the files are on an NT formatted disk, then you might check out
this:

There is a big difference. You'd need some server-side script to mediate
the HTTP requests, otherwise all you have is a (read-only) static
document being served on request.
I can't go into more detail here, but that's just how it works (it's got
nothing to do with TiddlyWiki per se).

Oh, scanning the forums, if your web server does "WebDav", then
there's a plugin that will allow you to save directly to your web
server.

It's a local server over the intranet: Network drive, NTFS. :)

So this will require server-side scripting such as *php./*asp./
*jsp.? :S

If it's just a shared network drive (i.e. instead of a web server), it
actually does not (i.e. disregard my previous response).

IIRC, some people have reported weird issues with this on Windows. I
don't remember the details, but I think that got resolved - check the
group archives and the community wiki (tiddlywiki.org).

Ok, I'll take a look! Thanks for the quick response.

I'll ask another question whilst at it! Is there any known Plugin or
so that actually diplays if a tiddler is being edit by someone else?
Or is that not possible due to it being a TW?
What I mean is if I visit a public TW and I want to edit the welcome
message but someone else is doing it already. If I start to edit, he
gets finished, saves his job but 5min after I save my version and
overwrite his. A plugin which says if a tiddler is already being
edited by someone else would be lovely.
Maybe I should make a new thread about this but lets give it a shot!

The following page explains why that's not possible on a tiddler-level
without a mediating server-side script:
http://tiddlywiki.org/wiki/Server-Side_Implementations
However, it is possible on a document-level using TiddlyLock (also
listed on that page).

Generally speaking, it's indeed better to create a separate thread for
each issue. However, this seems fine here (provided the notes above
suffice).
