It's not possible to save changes. Possible reasons include:
- your browser doesn't support saving (Firefox, Internet Explorer,
Safari and Opera all work if properly configured)
- the pathname to your TiddlyWiki file contains illegal characters
- the TiddlyWiki HTML file has been moved or renamed

I'm using a Mac, with Safari 2.0.4 (419.3) and OS X 10.4.10 -- I'm
brand new to Macs (just got this a couple of weeks ago) and new to
using the Tiddlywiki software (the wiki was started last night) , so
I'm totally clueless.
Also, I'm using the Monkey Pirate, but I'm not able to upload anything
(or maybe something I'm missing?) -- I can never get any dialogue past
"Step 1" and I don't have the function to change the palettes in my
own wiki, although I could see that in the sample wiki before I
created my own. The location is nerdygirl.tiddlywiki.com, if it
helps. (But I guess my inner nerd is failing me with this wiki!)
Thanks for any help -- it's a bit confusing, and I'm trying to use
this to organize my class notes, so I don't want to start adding a lot
of content if I can't get it to work.
Safari needs a Java browser plugin to be able to save TiddlyWikis locally.

Firefox should work a treat, if you don't want to muck about with TiddlySaver.

Do you mean "import"? Browser security makes it difficult to import
directly into an online tiddlyspot site, but it should work from an
offline (as in, locally saved) TiddlyWiki. If you can't get import
working from a local file, post back here with details of when it
fails, error messages, etc.
You *can* get importing working from a tiddlyspot site, but you have
to add "/proxy/" to the start of the path you're importing from, AND
the place you're importing from has to be on the tiddlyspot approved
list. So it's simpler to try offline first.

I think the palette changer thing isn't in the "getting started" MPTW
collection. If you really want it, you can grab the plugin from
mptw.tiddlyspot.com. (See how to install plugins on TiddlyWiki.org --
it's pretty simple).

I guess you mean nerdygirl.tiddlySPOT.com.. and wow, that *is* nerdy
:) You just need to add some StarTrek references.
Hope this helps..
Cheers

I don't know about Star Trek, but I might install the lightsaber
noises on my computer!
Thank you again!

"Step 1" and I don't have the function to change the palettes in my
own wiki, although I could see that in the sample wiki before I
created my own.
I would also like to swap from FF to Safari (my TW runs much faster in
the latter, and FF eats more of my CPU when in the background), but
cannot get saving to work. I'm on 10.4.10, Safari 2.0.4.
By the way, the link to the pre-built .java.policy file on
http://tiddlywiki.com/#TiddlySaver does not work any more. I must say
that I'm unsure about how to enter the paths into that file - could
anybody post an example (withouth placeholders) so I could check? Or
could any of the Safari extensions be problematic (I use Safari Stand,
Saft, SafariBlock and Inquisitor)?
Thanks!
Best,
Silke

not used to Macs - but there are at least two threads where you might
