Rumor on the street is that Sarah Palin, Alaska Governor, could be the

Stick a fork in Obama because his chances to be President are now
slim and none. Yep, I think McCain will just walk into the White

Adds an interesting dimension to the election. Will certainly be much
speculation as to why Sarah was chosen. Hope I didn't toss the Alaska
magazine that had a feature story on her and her family-want to reread
it now. I think it was the May issue.

Iran would happen and if it did Obama would more likely will depend
on his military advisers on what to do. I think Bush ignored his

You can bet this will bring out all the Professional hate mongers,
hypocrites, sexist and liars. Palin, even with limited experience,
she has far more executive experience than Obama. The only two things
she does not have that he has is experience in Muslims and Communism.

Obama already showed his contempt for middle town America today by
belittling her being a Mayor of a small town. That has rocketed
through middle America already.

This is going to be fun to watch.

I like what little I've read about her so far. In my mind right now
probably the biggest plus for putting her on the ticket is it seems
like a refreshing surprise - and something NEW. I think anything that
helps distance McCain from the same ole thing will help him. This
election is about change. Obviously one reason for putting her on the
ticket is the hope that a lot of Hillary's supporters will vote for
her because she's a woman. I think that could back-fire, though.

I like Obama because he's a great speaker and has a sharp mind when it

I just have a bad feeling about McCain since he picked that woman as

I find it hard to believe an intelligent person would ask that
question. But here is my reply.

You talk about inexperience a heartbeat away while you want to vote
first line inexperience directly into the office?

Sarah Palin has served

Two 2 year Terms on the City Council
Two 3 year terms as Mayor
Two years as Governor

That is 6 years of executive experience. Many of her accomplishments,
such as reducing property tax, giving money back to the state
residents, and many others have been posted in various articles
today.
Now, please advise us of Obama's executive experience. In fact, list
specifically what Obama's accomplishments are.

LF said: "And that again he's picked a young former beauty queen to

Obama picked a plagerist who then was forced to quit the presidential
race in 1988 in disgrace.

Of those two choices I'd take the beauty queen.

LF - If you are so worried let's see if this changes your heart from a
beat to a skip to a murmur. Governor Palin has almost 6 years
EXECUTIVE experience vs. Obama's 140's days actually LEGISLATING while
the Senate was in session, Now you be the judge. You've left us all
confused. Are you saying a woman with experience is inferior to a man
without any?

If you don't think the lady is qualified vote for a man that has ZERO
experience managing in any executive branch position. Obama's decision
making amounts to 1/100th compared to Governor Palin's 100/100
qualifications on her resume. Before you go there, don't forget John
McCain was a senior flight grade commander which required life or
death split decision making skills for a whole squadron so you can
attack his mangerial tenure all you want.

BTW, I hope the Dem's do make inexperience an issue in this campaign.
If they do it will be a disaster for them. Look, if the Democrat
ticken was Biden / Obma vs McCain / Palin they may have an outside
chance to win. However, it is a disaster as is but that is a good
thing for us Republican's and this voter sure ain't complaining. Just
keep nominating those Socialist Liberal's and the Republican's will
just keep on winning the White House, but you didn't hear that from

Fox... you're counting her time as mayor of Wasilla (est. pop. 5,000) as
"executive" and comparing it to the executive experience of a Governor or
President. C'mon now.

I really like Palin. But when debating Fox, let's try to use some facts and
real truth. She was elected mayor of a small town. She took over the
Governor's office in December 2006 - she's been Governor for less than 2
years.

I hope that McCain has not ruined and/or shortened her political career by
plucking out of her momentum too early to be used as his pawn in this
election. I think she could be a good political contender in the future.

JJ - Okay, just count her time as Governor. I'm looking at the person
and her accomplishments as a LEADER. So far, they are quite
impressive. She's cleaned up state corruption, successfully challenged
the good old boy network, and when her ex brother-in-law's manager
refused to terminate him for alleged incompetence, she fired the boss.
Good for her. She reminds me of an unselfish assertive basketball
point guard who is a team player but not afraid to rip some butt when
they aren't performing to their capabilities.

Hey, she's rattled some cages and proven she can make tough decisions
without concerning herself how it looks politically. Before it is all
said and done, she's going to set the standard so high that will
catapult women's right's to a level that it deserves. Because this
lady is honest, assertive, proactive, acts in the best interest of the
citizen, holds people accountable, and because she's noted for being
firm but FAIR she'll drive liberal's crazy - up and over a cliff. You
just wait and see. Because she holds people accountable you can bet
the tree hugging welfare loving supporter's will despise the grounds
she walks on, and that my friend is a good thing.

She is everything Hillary is not. In the future, even when Democrat's
mention Hillary's name, they will say, "What were we thinking?" The
Dem's have their own Sarah Palin's, but they have yet to discover
them. I have a feeling this lady is going to overhaul politics as we
know it and give it a whole new meaning.

Alrightythere Fox.

Historians are saying that never since 1908 has a more inexperienced
person been on a ticket as vp. We've had months to see Obama and pick
him apart. Palin is a relative unknown, and the election's not so far
away. Obama has one thing that just can't be ignored: he has an
unusual ability to inspire people all across the board. It's a
leadership quality that many wish they had, but few do. That trait,
alone. trumps 98 per cent of any hopefuls for office. That's my two
cents for the sake of your discussion.

CCL - Please re-read what I wrote, instead of responding blindly.

Fox made a statement about how many years of "executive" experience she has,
and I asked that he deal with facts - not exaggerations that are touted in
the media. It is my opinion that her years as council person and mayor of a
5,000-person town does not constitute "executive" experience with regards to
the political role she is now being asked to fill.

I was discussing Palin and the facts surrounding her experience, and just
asked that facts were used.

The only responses I could seem to get were about Obama this and Obama
that...nothing actually about Palin or the issue I had brought up. I did
not address an issue about Obama - I was addressing an issue about Palin,
but you folks seem to take a page from the Dem playbook and instead of
addressing the issue I discussed, you instead discussed more negative things
about Obama, I suppose just for the sake of pouring out more negativity
about Obama instead of being truthful about statements with regards to

If I had to choose between the unknown Sarah Palin, of the PTA, city
council-woman, a small town mayor of the Governor of a state with a
population or no more than Brooklyn.....or Joe Biden for that 3 a.m.
call I'd say I'd feel safer..... hands down, with Joe Biden.

With having a potential deadly kind of skin cancer this is something
we all have to think about. John McCain put the former mayor of a town
of 7,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the
presidency.

Governor Palin shares John McCain's commitment to overturning Roe v.
Wade, even in the event of rape or incest..... the agenda of Big
Oil.........and continuing George Bush's failed economic
policies......that's not the change we need; it's just more of the
same,"

Jazz I didnt answer blindly; I am answering blindly because my opinion
is different than yours? ( Not very becoming of you Jazz.)
Palin has been a coucil person, a mayor and a governor, that makes her
have executive experience. (managerial executive experience)
I just call it as see it. Now, I will ask again, what has Obama
managed? This is MY question, I want to know.
What is so blind about that? I sorta take offense to that Jazz, you
almost sound patronizing and that isnt like you; not to me any way.
Why is it a negative about Obama when I ask what he has managed?
Chill. I am asking a question I dont have an answer to. I am looking
for information.

LF - Inspiration???... Yes, I fully concur that he can inspire and is
a super cheerleader...However, there is a world of difference between
being inspirational and execution of leadership duties. The most
inspirational person in my lifetime is Billy Graham. When I think of
the people who can execute responsibilities I think of Harry Truman
who was anything but a cheerleader. He was a strong leader who could
has made the toughest decision in the last 100 years.

Contrary to what many of you think I am far from being a war hawk. I
believe in diplomacy first but we can ill afford to enable hostile
religious leaders (ie. Iran) in the dangerous world we live in today.
We need a President that can make the toughest decisions and can let
water roll off his backs from critics. Do I think McCain, Biden or
Palin could do that - the answer is yes. Obama is totally UNTESTED,
INEXPERIENCED, and from what I've seen he waffles and will dazzle us
with rhetoric. In my opinion all talk, no substance. Politics aside,
Hillary Clinton talks tough but throughout the campaign wouldn't give
a straight answer to complex issues. Like McCain or not, he will give
a straight and often times an unpopular answer.

I like George Bush because he means what he says and will do what he
says. For example, he gave Saddam fair warning (should have been 48
hours not days), he made his case to Congress, he consulted with the
worthless U.N.,, he gave Saddam a final warning but after he exhausted
those avenues he delivered on his promise to bomb the hell out of Iraq
and he did. Good for him, I like going to bed at nights feeling secure
that he will protect our home turf.

We live in the most dangerous world in history because of nuke
capabilities and that alone means we need the strongest leader EVER.
Like or hate George Bush, he's PROACTIVE, not afraid to make a
decision and he will deliver a promise. He took his sworn oath of
office seriously and kept his promise to protect and defend this
country. I respect the man for staying focused and ignoring his
critics - like it or not. The latter is why you liberals detest the
man. He put this country first just like Washington, Lincoln, FDR,
Truman, JFK, Reagan, and Bush 1. Our greatest presidents were the most
disliked by their critics.

After we went to war the liberal critics wanted it scripted 1,2,3,4
without any deviations. War never goes as planned - NEVER. It's
changing one battle plan after another, but the liberal press drove it
into the ground and the anti's followed suite.

BTW, being a city council member in my book is legislative doesn't
quality as executive branch leadership. Obama has limited legislative
and zero executive leadership. He has never managed city, state, or
Federal Government agencies period, much less a private enterprise
entity. Governor Patin has. LF, you want CHANGE, know and be careful
what you ask for.....

I'll cover two messages in this one.

"I was responding to
Hooli's "hatemonger" remark about what is "rocketing through
America".
He said the talk was about a perceived slight to small towns"

1. Please explain how a true fact is a "hatemonger" remark?
2. Where did I say "perceived slight"?
3. Is it belittling you to ask why you didn't read the press release
from the Obama campaign so you could belittle me?

You said I belittled you. I didn't belittle you. You belittled
yourself, but because I pointed it out you wish to blame me.

Sounds like psychological transference.

"Some people refer to transference as a "projection." In this case you
are projecting your own feelings, emotions or motivations into another
person without realizing your reaction is really more about you than
it is about the other person."

BTW, I miscounted on her terms. Two 2 year terms would be 4 years.
Two 3 year terms as Mayor would be 6 years, then 2 years as Governor
woul be a total of 12 years. But for those who wish to minimize her
4 years on the Council, I'm sure with her and her husband running two
businesses would make up part of it.

I think one mistake some are making is they are more concerned about
years than they are about actual accomplishments while in each
office. I suggest people read them before commenting on her
experience.

Oh and as for Obama being an inspiring speaker, which some here think
qualifies him for President, I could say the same about Hitler, or Jim
Jones or David Koresh. Look where it got them.

Sorry if I was rude CCL...but your reply was addressed to me, and you didn't
address my issue but instead began yammering about what Obama did or didn't
manage.

I don't know what Obama has managed. So far he has managed to be elected to
the state legislature and the US legislature, and managed to become the
Democratic nominee for President. He's also managed to make history. Those
are the only things I know that he has managed.

But I'm not voting for Obama, so you may want to ask someone else who is.

I just don't understand why McCain supporters can't be enthusiastic about
McCain and discuss his plans of action like Obama supporters are able to do.

jazz you are right, I dont feel the enthusiasm over McCain either.
I was simply trying to make a point: I feel that managing business
in an executive role, as I see Palin's city council and/or mayorial

BRANCH, but executive level, I wasnt clear, I guess.
I didnt mean to yammer about barry to you, I am just really curious as

Here is an audio of Sarah Palin laughing on a radio show when her
opponent a cancer survivor was called 'a cancer and a bit*h by radio
host.
She later apologized in private to Sen. Green but this shows that she
is ruthless and didn't have the courage or more important the desire
to tell her radio host that they were over the line. Her little
giggles at their cancer and bit*h comments tells us all we need to
know about McCain's VP pick.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/08/31/palin-laughs-as-opponent_n_122776.html

Early on in the conversation before Palin started to crack up, Lester
referred to Sen. Green as a jealous woman and a cancer. Palin, who
knows full well Lyda Green is a cancer survivor, didn't do what any
decent person would do, say, "Bob, that's going too far."
But as the conversation moved on, Lester intensified his attack on
Green.

Lester questioned Green's motherhood, asking Palin if the senator
cares about her own kids. Palin laughs.

Then Lester clearly sets the stage for what he is about to say by
warning his large audience and Palin. He says, "Governor you can't say
this but I will, Lyda Green is a cancer and a b----." Palin laughs for
the second time.

What were teenage boys thinking when they heard the governor laugh at
someone being called a b----? How about the teenage girls who look up
to Palin. What did they think when they heard her laugh?

But there is more. Lester then describes Green's chair as big and
cushy. A clear reference to the senator's weight. Palin laughs a third
time. She's just having a grand old time.

Palin was clearly enjoying every second of Lester's vicious attack on
her political rival.

Why are you and other libs so bothered about Palin being nominated as
a VP candidate? Does she scare you that much? I could have cared less
who the Dems picked. I was kind of hoping Hillary because I wanted the
voters to send her a message that ultimately ended up in defeat.

I'm glad McCain picked a person with executive experience. Her being a
woman is just an additional plus. No doubt, Biden is much more
qualified than Obama, but that was the Dems choice. The Reps will run
against the Dem ticket and vice versa.

RW - TELL US, will you be laughing in November when Gov Palin, an
intelligent lady with proven excellent executive leadership whose
matching tough decision making skills will be recognized by the
majority of voters, thus again assuring the Republican's will go back
into the White House? Scary thing for you leftist liberals who can't
do anything but whine, procrastinate, finger point, and cut and run
like the French Army in World War 2.

Why does an aggressive strong woman with backbone intimidate Democrat
constituents so badly? Just admit you are SCARED to death and that
Dems and losers are well known to be one in the same. Just admit that
your Party are incapable of leading, much less make critical national
security decisions and explain why terrorists love radical liberals?
Would you care to tell me why our enemies are rooting for Obama to
win? They stated this time and time again. Could it be he's still too
wet behind the ears and doesn't have the stomach to lead? I think so.

Come November 5th, what will Gore, Kerry, and Obama all have in
common? Hey, you want CHANGE, you have to have to have good candidates
to facilitate the process. Senator Biden is capable, but can't do it
all by himself especially as a VP candidate.
