I used to have drawf hamsters, but finally gave them up because their
lives are so short. When I walked to pick my son up yesterday, there
was a middle school student waiting on his lil brother. He had
brought his pet iguana with him, and had him hanging on his shirt.
Now my son thinks they are coolest thing he's ever seen and wants
one. It's not as if he doesn't have enough pets already...

my iguana was really cool
my son got her at a reptile swap meet years ago
she went from being this little tiny thing to this big 5' mean
godzilla!!!!!!
i loved her and she loved me (as much as a reptile can love somebody)
she died of depression, she had to be caged after living years of
being free.
sassy, instead of an iguana, get your son a bearded dragon, much
friendlier

I saw a Bearded Dragon yesterday at Noah's Ark and was tempted, but my
reptile aquarium is set up for turtles right now, can't wait til fall
break beach trip, so I can get new sliders to go into it (I accidently
sent the last one into shock and killed it last year when I installed
a heater for him :( I'll keep your advice on which lizard to choose
in mind though, because I have a feeling this conversation will
surface again as he ages.
I did get brave, however, and bought me a Chocolate chip starfish for
my salt tank (never had anything in it except fish and hermit crabs)
My son thinks the starfish is "awsome", and who knew they were such
fast movers when they want to be?

I have had those before, they are cool!
I unfortunately had some fish that thought they were appetizers!!!
bearded dragons can be so friendly, learn all about them before you
purchase one, they can be great pets.
