[S.P.] Physics accounts for physical phenomena by using the methods and models which ignore the agency of informational factor. Though mechanistic, such approach is rational, since there is no need to take into account the fact that a material object (say, a metallic ball) can decide on its own which path to follow during the interaction with another metallic ball.
      .
Let us consider the following example. We have a wide tube fixed vertically, and which is connected to two vessels beneath of it through the valves. If we fill the tube with metallic balls (of the same mass and size), they will be able to enter either left or right vessel through the correspondent valve. With time, we will see that the number of balls in the left vessel is equal to the number of balls in the right vessel. So, to explain the results of this experiment, it is sufficient for us to use the laws of Physics.
      .
But, now let us suppose we have a wide corridor with two rooms at the end of it. On the left room's door there is a signboard: "For those who want to be rich and healthy". The signboard on the right door says: "For those who want to be sick and poor". Then we ask people (of the same age, gender, and who can read in English and can understand this language equally well) to go through the corridor and enter some room. When the experiment is finished, we see that the left room is crowded with people while the right room is empty. So, to explain this fact (this experimental result) we will have to use the methods and models which take into account the informational factor.
      .
Now then, my idea is that for Science to be able to account for all possible phenomena which belong to our Reality, it has to use as the methods of Physics (when it is appropriate, justified and rational) and the methods and models which are able to take into account the agency of informational factor.
      .
My research is directed toward constructing the required methods and models. So, my aim IS NOT just to state my beliefs (as I am permanently and groundlessly accused), but to suggest concrete solutions. Yes, I start from constructing a new epistemological framework -- a new meta-theory which contains as the collection of basic postulates about Reality (or my beliefs about Reality), so the general method, a special system of models, a special system of proofs, a special language, a set of general principles and correlations, some additional conservation laws, etc. But then, within the limits of this new meta-theory, I construct an array of the applied theories, and among them is my version of the theory of consciousness.
      .
Second. Telepathy and clairvoyance are consciousness-related phenomena. For them to be explained, we have to use the mentioned above methods and models able to take into account the agency of informational factor. The only remark here is that the methods and models, I am talking about, are able to account not only for the mentioned above consciousness-related phenomena, but also for such phenomena as non-local entanglement and transmutation of elementary particles. Similarly, if you have an ax and a saw as appropriate tools, you will be able to build not only the house, but also a church, a pub, a hotel, and to make a lot of furniture too.
      .

      Rosie : )

      Good morning. *:) happy

Do you know who these people are?

Mrs Piper (William James’s American ‘white crow’), Mrs Leonard (the British ‘white crow’) and Geraldine Cummins among others

The names are from an old jcs-online forum post, msg#914, 2001, by Jonathan Bricklin, and worth reading.

Part of my purpose in posting here, on this forum, is to explain the nature of clairvoyance, and of course, people like D.D. Home, coming to understand consciousness, in order to do so. So, thank you for your post today.

      In searching for more info on Jonathan Bricklin, I came across an organization in Manhattan;

They offer quite a few classes that are, it seems to me, related to ways our consciousness's can be used. So, I was happy to find them. I go to Manhattan quite often, monthly, and am familiar with their location, so I will drop by when I have the chance.

I think the  framework for consciousness studies I have developed on this forum, an explication of the writings of Jane Roberts, will provide a foundation for understanding clairvoyance. This has a lot that has to do with the intellect, and the kinds of information available to it, if you just use your natural ability, to use your consciousness, to access it.

As you well know, science delegates the world of nature as the realm of exterior events. Its view of nature is therefore mechanistic. The natural self, however, like the rest of nature, possesses a rich dimension of inside psychological depth, that science, because of its own definitions, cannot perceive. Telepathy and clairvoyance , for example, are a part of natural effects, but they belong to a nature so much more expansive than science's definitions that they have been made to appear as highly unnatural eccentricities of behavior, rather than as natural components of consciousness.

It is for this reason, that individuals like D.D. Home and Leonora Piper seem to fall outside the realm of the s-a-n-e. Such characteristics are, however, basic properties of the natural person. They do not appear very well under the auspices of the scientific method, because the scientific method, and of course Serge's IIS, and Ralph's NSD, are themselves programmed to perceive only information that fits into THEIR preconceived patterns and beliefs. Such magical abilities appear to be unpredictable, discontinuous, only because we are so unaware of what is actually quite constant psychological behavior. We are only usually aware of what seems to be isolated hints of odd characteristics : )

It is only Phillip Benjamin, on this forum, who even suggests the possibility of different forms of energy. There will be a paradigm change, as Ralph suggests, but it will not be to NSD, and it will take 600, well, now 590 years, to happen  : )

" All physical stuff is energy, in one form or another, and all energy, I trow, is an experience-involving phenomenon. This sounded crazy to me for a long time, but I am quite used to it..." Galen Strawson

Yeah, insane right? I'm used to it Lol
