Hello,

I was looking at an old thread today and wanted to add a reply to it.
However the interface did not give me the option to reply to the
google group as a whole, only to the author. I did want to post a
public reply though. Is this at all possible, or does GWT expressely
forbids you to reply to an old post ? (and maybe all Google groups
behave the same)?

Hi, Jean-Noël!

You are correct:  after 60 days, messages are considered "too old" for replies, and you can only reply to the author.  Also, if you are not logged in, you can only reply to the author as well.

These are global Google Groups restrictions, not specific to the GWT group.

Hope that helps,

If there is new information or a rekindling of interest, you can
always start a new post, immediately mention that reading the previous
one (supply a link) could help, then explain the specific issue. I
guess it helps prevent 'casual' replies, but if you have a serious
reason to drag it up, by all means.
